West coaster, out of touch, misses the good old days: "EFF these young kids and them having fun. I'm burping my kids at this time, they should be up!" :shakesfist: "Also, eff Fridays! They're gonna have fun with their miserable lives"- Mich

How many football games do you attend a year?
2 away games and 3/4 of the home games. :dunno:

BOOOOOOOO FUUUUUUCCCCKKKKINNNNNGGGGG HOOOOOOOO

What on Earth is wrong with you?  Does it really bother you that someone would state the obvious fact that the fan experience for that game is worsened for nearly everyone (including those of us with no plans to attend the game)?

The fan experience is "worsened"? I can't imagine being faced with the horrifying options of a) waking up an hour earlier than normal or b) losing an hour of shotgunning Natty Light in a parking lot. T's & P's for those poor souls.

It is fine to recognize that TV dollars and conference realignment and luxury suites are what are necessary to compete, but I will never understand the casual disdain for the vast majority of K-State fans that your statement (and many others like it) are repeated on here constantly.

The vast majority of K-State fans can't easily go to every game (regardless of kickoff time) and are probably pretty happy that Farmageddon is on National TV, especially considering it wasn't too long ago that hardly any of the games were on TV even in Kansas. And my mocking KSU fans in peril because of an 11am kickoff for a football contest is fairly new, at least relative to how long I've been hearing about their tragic plight.

And you are smart enough to understand why an 11am kick is inconvenient for many people that would like to attend the game and why it is a less desirable time for almost everyone else as well.

Yes, I totally understand why people consider it inconvenient. Are you smart enough to understand why I think these people are incredibly whiny? I mean you can walk to the games from your house. If you need me to spell it out for you in more detail, I'd be happy to.

You realize that Iowa State is an away game?  It seems like you don't because you reference "waking up an hour earlier" and some scenario where I roll out of bed and walk to Aimes.

But since we are apparently speaking in generalities about 11am starts/national television/fan convenience....

I absolutely agree that televising games on national TV is a benefit!  It is also the top priority considered by the decision makers at the conference and school.  That is the necessary evil of BCS football today.  But can we at least acknowledge that something is being lost here?

The 11am start is nowhere near as egregious as the (TWO!) Thursday night games, which are a serious inconvenience for the vast majority of fans attending that game, but there are always going to be winners and losers on these things and my preference would be to not inconvenience traveling fans.  Keep in mind, that a large number of season ticket holders to K-State don't live within walking distance of the stadium.  It is ok if I think of them when I say that lots of people would be inconvenienced.

I would really like you to just go ahead spell out your point here.  Slow rolling Wacky over the next page + is counterproductive.

Yes, I also saw where you had no intention of attending yet somehow your "fan experience" would be worsened.

Shitty football in a conference dominated by Nebraska and OU? :dunno:

The 11am start is nowhere near as egregious as the (TWO!) Yeah, I get that. How would you feel about playing every game in Arrowhead? That would increase the convenience factor for an awful lot of Cat fans.

*sorry for the strawman*

But there is only 1 Thursday night game a K-State that doesn't live within walking distance has to make plans for. And they have what...six months to plan for that game?  IT'S ONE DAY OUT OF 365 AND YOU HAVE SIX MONTHS TO PREPARE. If KSU football is important enough to you that you spend thousands of dollars a year for all the parking, tickets, gas, accommodations, etc., why whine about ONE DAY of inconvenience, ESPECIALLY when that day helps keep the product you hold so dear viable?

No! Those days are important! Party your ass off all night Friday! Wake up at 5 am the next day and do it again! Watch the game, then take a nap and then hit Aggieville! Or skip the nap! That's what I would do if the horror of an 11am kickoff was staring me in the face.

always team MIcat but I don't understand the frustration here, MichiCaliCat aren't you ever inconvenienced by things in your life? You seemed mildly annoyed at the $60 tickets at Candlestick on Tuesday night but no one gave you crap. Everyone is annoyed by things that others find trite, most understand this and just live and let live :dunno:

I got to go with MCat here.  I prefer evening games in the hot early fall and afternoon games in late fall.  But K-State football games are to important in my book to complain about morning games.  They are all fun for Christ's sake.

So anyway, I'm looking forward to goEMAW running Ames Collegetown on Friday night. We aren't tailgaiting at that sack of crap so getting out of here by 10AM will be fine. If some of you choose to drive back on Saturday after the game, that will be a shitty drive so why not come back to beautiful Boone and enjoy Saturday football before going back on Sunday?

Thank you for being the first person to understand, katdaddy. I don't have the finances to fly into the super convenient MHK to attend games, and I don't think people who whine about having to attend a game at an inconvenient kickoff time (that has been a regular occurrence for like 18 years or so) realize how lucky they are.

Be thankful you get to attend any games, you dolts!

You don't go to games. Shut up.

If I lived within, I don't know, a 30 hour drive of a game I sure as crap wouldn't whine about having to wake up at the buttcrack of noon to make it to a game.
Well, the game is at 11, so you're going to be an hour late to the game dorkus. go cats, tho!
