QuoteI'm sorry, but I don't see one coach who deserves to keep his job after Shitshow Dumpster Fire 2.0. This 'program' is an absolute failure. Anyone trying vainly to point out how they were confident that one aspect of KU football is about to turn the corner is lying. KU needs the equivalent of USMC Boot Camp to get back on track. Not some fat guy who sucked at this last two jobs. Not some completely lost former Nubs star. Mangino had one really good season and a lot of losses, but at this point he's the freaking Vince Lombardi of all KU coaches since Mason. KU football is an abomination. They're an affront to football, an insult. I guess the silver lining is that mu isn't part of this humiliation. We're not going to beat ISU or KSU this year, I'm not saying that to be negative I'm saying this because we look like a bunch of clueless idiots on the football field.

The Big 12 Conference should make that a loser leaves town match since neither of those guys are going to lose their jobs even though both should.

Obviously the offense sucked but it was still only a few plays from potentially winning that game. The gameplan was pretty good but execution killed the team. Dropped balls and penalties not only stalled a couple drives where KU could have come away with points but penalties also extended drives for Texas which led to points for them. Just a few plays made all the difference. The D is good. Real good. It will get better next year as well. The offensive line did a pretty good job considering they were going against a front four of future pros. Obviously not great but all things considered I wasn't pissed about the line. The WR's were awful outside of Coleman. Unfortunately he looks like he'll miss se time now. I'm optimistic next year that Harwell, Coleman, and Pierson next year is a good little batch of talent. Obviously more depth needs to develop. The biggest issue is QB play. Weis needs to gameplan for Cozart and let him loose. Heaps played pretty well yesterday but he just can't get this offense into the endzone. With three winnable games to close the season out Weis needs to give Cozart a fair shot and let him throw.
Yeah, seems like Weis has recruited with a "win now" mentality. The fact that he isn't is going to put us in a deeper hole in a season or two.So no. I'll continue to support the program....but we're going to be taking a golf cart to a NASCAR race for a while.
As a KU student through those hard, hard years, the fact that I agree with this completely angers me to the point of tears. I didn't think KU football could get worse than the Terry Allen era, but the last three and a half seasons have shown how wrong I was.
The KU football program has been deathly ill for years and years, exacerbated by the administration's neglect and seeming disdain. It wallowed and toiled in sub-standard facilities for decades. There was some hope of a miracle cure with the Orange Bowl season but it vanished as quickly as it appeared. Now the program is on its deathbed and on life support. No one has any answers. Ain't no miracles appearing to save the day. KU did this to itself.
KU football has been unsuccessful because of the AD over the past 20plus years. I think the influence some of the locals have had has hurt the program. I remember when Saban first took the LSU job he was on a radio program And he was asked if he was looking forward to eating dinner with some of the key local alumni and hangers on of the football program. His answer was that he and his staff won't be doing that. They knew how to eat and were mainly interested in winning football games. That answer upset lots of local LSU fans. When LSU started winning they got over it.KU football has been a club of good ole boys for way too long . It has damaged the program.
