Charlie was really breathing heavy during that interview.

Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

Recruiting athletes to Lawrence is extremely hard.
Especially when you know the fans won't be out there to support you.

Do I go:

A. Where a pak'd stadium is screaming and cheering my name

or

B. An empty stadium with a track, in smelly Lawrence, where all the fans are over watching a bball practice.

WOOF!

I wonder if Charlie is pissed that with all the money splashed on the basketball program, he can't find one booster in that town to buy him a few players. I guess they already spent it on Charlie and figured he'd do the rest. Those retread QBs are working out well.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

Man, for some reason I thought they had a better record than that under Mangino, but I guess it was just that year with the perfect schedule.

I'm sorry, but I don't see one coach who deserves to keep his job after Shitshow Dumpster Fire 2.0.  This 'program' is an absolute failure.  Anyone trying vainly to point out how they were confident that one aspect of KU football is about to turn the corner is lying.

KU needs the equivalent of USMC Boot Camp to get back on track.  Not some fat guy who sucked at this last two jobs.  Not some completely lost former Nubs star.  Mangino had one really good season and a lot of losses, but at this point he's the freaking Vince Lombardi of all KU coaches since Mason.

KU football is an abomination.  They're an affront to football, an insult.  I guess the silver lining is that mu isn't part of this humiliation.  We're not going to beat ISU or KSU this year, I'm not saying that to be negative I'm saying this because we look like a bunch of clueless idiots on the football field.

Our program is going nowhere fast with CW IMO. Two 5 star QB's can't get it done who the hell can? While we're looking the same every frickin game, the old man down the road about 90 miles to the west keeps sawing wood and getting better. Same ol chit. I'm sick of it. The purples will roll into town and it's gonna be ugly.

It might get kind of better next year. Like four wins, maybe? But due to Charlie's recruiting strategy we basically have no young talent in the Freshman and Sophmore classes. Last year's freshman class was absolutely tiny. So there's most likely gonna be a big issue after next year because we signed a bunch of Juco kids. Weis told us he was signing a bunch of Juco kids to win now and really all that it's accomplished is make it much harder to win in the future.

(at this point, I'd settle for Terry Allen-like seasons).
As a KU student through those hard, hard years, the fact that I agree with this completely angers me to the point of tears.  I didn't think KU football could get worse than the Terry Allen era, but the last three and a half seasons have shown how wrong I was.

Our last 100 games
Before our loss yesterday our record over the last 100 games is 43-57. Not too bad until you break it down by sets of 50 games:

Last 50 games: 8-42
Previous 50 games: 35-15 with 8 of the 15 losses coming by 10 points or less.

It is easy to see how outside of the hardcore supporters KU Football has become completely irrelevant.
