As far as the fans go, KU fans are no different than any other fanbase in the country at schools not name Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, etc. Win and they show up. People went to the scrimmage because there was a damn good product to see (for free). People give the "shrug and smile" because the product is hullabaloo. There are less than 10 football programs in the country who would have had solid attendance the last 3 years with the teams we've fielded.
This team hasn't quit, and I still believe they can break through and win a conference game. Who knows, they might pull the upset over Baylor this coming Saturday.
The most annoying part of the game? Simple. Our "neighbors" in the stands didn't attend so we got to enjoy the game surrounded by OU fans, and their sisters - who were also their dates to the prom. If you aren't going to attend the game, then give your tickets to the Boys and Girls Club or burn them. We didn't buy season tickets so that we could have Soomer Booners surroung us.
Oh football gods, look upon our misery and please grant us a conference victory this season!
I about puked today watching Mizzou remain undefeated here in the show me state.

in the end, EMAW will always win.

I think a full stadium helps prevent you from losing 23 straight conference games.
Iowa State has been selling out games despite being terrible this year. You can't even buy a hillside ticket for next week's game unless you go to the secondary market. This is an interesting article about it:http://amestrib.com/sections/sports/isu-cyclones/football-how-isu-was-able-bring-fans-during-national-attendance-decline
Look I didn't come here to lose football games. There are certain things that have to be done first. The first thing you have to do is get your guys to buy in, and they did. The second thing you have to get them to do is toe the line, and they did. The third thing you gotta get them to do is compete, and they did. Now the results don't always turn out the way you want them to, but once you've got those ingredients, once you've gotten those things under your belt, turning the corner becomes a relatively easy thing to do. Now how fast we turn the corner, can't really tell you yet, but I can tell you this, we get enough good guys in here, guys that aren't afraid to challenge the coming, coming here and to be a part of something special, we are gonna do something special.
"Special"

Weird fan base/population.

The block took a bounce into Oklahoma defensive back Aaron Colvin’s hands, and he returned it 98 yards for two points, extending Oklahoma’s lead to eight. Tight end Jimmay Mundine, who blocks on KU’s kicking team, said special teams are often so consistently similar that teams can game plan around attacking a certain weak spot. He said it’s a collective effort for a routine field goal to go smoothly.“We as a group have got to take more pride in field goals,” Mundine said. “And our kicker has to get the ball higher as well.”
I think KU is better defensively than ISU, but worse offensively. Baylor is going to have a lot of short fields to work with and KU won't score until the starters come out, and maybe not even then. 64-7 Baylor.
KU's Qb had 16 yards passing Saturday
