lol the NCAA is a joke. if his transcript is ok then what's the deal? i'm sure if he played for one of those SEC schools he would be eligible. or hell, why not make him sit out a half like "johnny football"

I agree, it's clearly an NCAA conspiracy to keep Kansas down, so they can't compete with Alabama and Johnny "football"

:D Beems has been posting that same claim since Snyder's return. #Adorable

Good luck on beating the cats at home again. This will be your 3rd try in the past four years in Lawrence. You can't even take advantage of a hand me down from the big fizz.

Last time KU played K-State in Lawrence with a real coach, we won by 31 points.  I think we've got a pretty good shot to win this year against a team that lost at home to an FCS school, but maybe not.

I think KU will be better than last year – will be at home – and I don’t think KSU is anything close to what it was last year.   Should be a close game (at a minimum).  And considering that it was a close game at half last year when ksu was at home  and ku was awful, it's not unreasonable to, right now, expect that ku wins that game.

If I didn't think that there will be more KSU fans in memorial I would agree.

Why would you think this?

Last time KSU played in Lawrence there were more Kstate fans than ku fans in that stadium.  So, from having actually seen it?   :dunno:

You mean there were more K-State fans in the stadium after the first half was over and K-State was winning big?  Shocking.

No. Your reading comprehension is poor. There were more K-State fans there from the start. Can confirm.

Was there, can confirm. More ku fans at kickoff, after about 5 minutes, more 'Cat fans there than Jayhawk fans.  I moved from upper seats on west side to seats by the field with seatbacks.  Have never been able to do this at BSFS.

I just don't know who to believe, the squawk in Oregon who hasn't been to a ku game since 07, or the emaws that actually went to the games. Quite the pickle.

If Weis wins less than 2 conference games this year and he keeps his job then that's pretty racist imo.

The standard has been set. Winning only 1 conference game in two seasons = fireable offense (as it should be)

Every game for Weis is a must win.

You have to keep things in context.  If Weis goes 1-8 in the Big 12 this year, but he wins th-ree non-con games and keeps KU in every game, I think he should get another year.  If he goes 1-8 in the Big 12, loses to Rice and/or La Tech, and gets blown out in most games, I agree that he should be fired.

He needs 7-9 years.  He is building on any Juco/transfer he can grab.  That takes time.

You have to keep things in context. Turner Gill went 1-8 in a much tougher Big 12. If Weis can't win 2 games this season, then that is worse than Turner's 1-17

You gotta be kidding me.  Colorado is worse than anyone in the Big 12 this year.  I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Statement From Charlie Weis Regarding Kevin Short
 9/13/2013 | Football

"Late yesterday we received notice from the NCAA that Kevin Short (junior, cornerback) would not be allowed to compete in games this year. Their rationale was that because Kevin has a redshirt year available it would be best spent solidifying his academics. He will still have two years of eligibility remaining after this season."

"We are extremely disappointed with this decision. Kevin's junior college transcript was better than most and indicated no reason to expect anything other than academic success. He was admitted to Kansas as a regular admit with grades and transferable hours exceeding entrance requirements, yet the NCAA ruled to take away competition this year. We asked the NCAA representatives to allow Kevin to speak to them so he could show them how he had overcome adversity in life to become a proud new student, but they rejected that request."

"Although I am disappointed for our team, I am much more concerned for Kevin personally. We discussed the situation with Kevin today and although it was tough to explain the rationale of the NCAA, we are moving forward turning this into a redshirt year focusing on academics."
For Pete's sake, don't say this!

Yeah.

Charlie should def not be held to winning two conf games this year.  I mean, he is recovering from Turner Gill.  He should be given more time than Turner, as Turner was "recovering" from the best football coach in KU history.

The hole Chuck has to climb out of is much deeper.  Honestly, without goEMAW'ing around, I would think he has to get at least one more season, if not two.  Especially with the huge juco class he brought in.  He needs a little more time to get this year's frosh class up and another good frosh class in.  Maybe three more years.  Min.

KU aka "hurting" - two top t-en in-state prospects

K-State aka "powerhouse" - zero top t-en in-state prospects

I know when I watch K-State, and I see them rush for 40 yards against an FCS school, and I see their defense, I think "damn, KU will never be able to compete with that."

from "hurting" to "healing"?

I mean, you can still be in significant pain, be bed ridden, and be missing the ability to eat solid food and technically be healing, right?
