Not remotely the same. Hawk simply ran down the sideline and said "That's an ejection! He's out!" Lance ran towards the head ref like an insane person

He is a complete lunatic and if you don't think he wasn't half gassed when that happened then you are sadly mistaken.  I guarantee the guy has some cheap ass vodka in his water bottle that he slurps on during the game and gulps it down after every turnover JD has. They should preemptively slap an ankle bracelet on him asap or make him blow through a breathalizer for the safety of refs, players and that stupid baby jay mascot.  The dude is a ticking time bomb.
Fifteen minutes later, when the Kansas locker room opened its doors to the media, the Jayhawks were still crying. Literally, bawling. All of them. I've never seen anything like it, and I've seen devastated college locker rooms -- after losses in the Final Four, the national championship game -- ever

He's losing far too consistently to rage out every time he does it.

i think its called like exposure therapy or something like that? Like the idea is you take the thing that triggers your undesireable response (in LL's case the trigger is losing and the undesireable response is behaving like a LLunatic) and you expose yourself to that thing on purpose until it no longer triggers you (or at least your response isn't so unhinged)

But Lance is a complete psycho, that was Woody Hayesque

I've met Woody Hayes.  Hayes is infamous for one incident that led to his resignation, but don't recall him being systematically ragey and sweaty like Lance Lightpole.
Woody got so enraged at the refs he ran out onto the field and kicked the placed football and then proceeded to tear a thick plastic yard line marker like they used to put up and down the sidelines in half.  Screaming at camera men to get out of his face.

He was Football’s Bobby Knight. A very well read, learned guy with an insane temper.  The BBC did a documentary on him in the late 70’s, and it was crazy. One minute sitting with the Freshman players reading through a piece of noted literature before practice, the next kicking guys in the ass on the practice field.  One minute talking about how he doesn’t take the team to “trashy movies” (that would barely be PG today), the next cussing like a longshoreman.

I don’t see Lance doing any reading of Leon Uris with the Freshmen class, just all the ragey stuff.

Lance was on the Nebraska staff at the same time as Pelini.

So, in a way, it's not his fault - sometimes you can't help but emulate your mentor (even a bad one).

So it's just a matter of time before he wets himself on live television?  Good Lord.

Um... a quick read on wiki says there's been a LOT more than one incident for Mr. Hayes.

If Lance beats KSU he’s back on Mt Rushmore even if he goes 3-9.

It’s the most important game on our schedule for recruiting reasons, fan support reasons, and program momentum. Everything we do this season at this point on should be focused on winning this game

I would take the entire two weeks to prepare for KSU. Beating them is the only thing that could redeem this season in any way, shape or form. The Houston game is meaningless.

Rest easy, hawk brothers. The thing fans, donors and recruits care about is all-time record smack talk. Still got a few more years before that crown jewel is in jeopardy

What a pickle.

On one side, seeing this winning streak continue to skyrocket towards the top of KU's all time continuous losing streak chart is fantastic.

On the other side, this "rivalry" is not going to ever ascend towards the top of the college football charts at current pace. Then to see KU fans gravitating towards "just beat K-State" mode is just disheartening on multiple levels.  :frown:

Look it has been the worst possible start, 1-5 is worse than any of us could have imagined...but playing extreme glass half full scenario:

1. We were the better team in at least 4 of the 6 games, and could be argued that we were equal if not better than ASU/TCU

2. Jalon's played a bit better the last 2 games, certainly was better at ASU

3. Losing Cornell Wheeler was a much bigger blow for this defense than we realized, looks like he is likely out this weekend but should be back against K State

4. The Big 12 sucks > I still don't really believe in ISU, KSU, BYU as being a team we can't matchup with

Bye Week, get right against UH, go on the road and beat up lavender boy, another bye week to prep for ISU and you never know. 6-3 with wins over ISU, KSU, BYU could be Big 12 championship bound!

All they have to do is go on their longest winning streak in 15 years, get a few breaks, and they're right back in this thing.

I'm still pretty embarrassed by our record in early 1900's when KU and K-State were in the Missouri Valley conference and K-State was dominated by KU.  Yeah, it was over 100 years ago, but if I'm a Jayhawk, I'm holding onto that all-time record for dear life.

I'm a little disturbed you get a kick out of reading the Gridiron forum. I've steered clear since Week 2.

Also, all time record, bitches.

We're an absolute dog crap matchup for them. Stop the run and let the QB beat you. That noodle armed chubby kid will turn the ball over 3 times.
