Nobody could predict Gary would be such a butthurt baby about it. Take the job and give gopowercat the cold shoulder. In hindsight Fitz was a hero for that.

Not sure why exactly. Sweaty Gary had much more high end success at TCU during the same time period as Snyder 2.0.

i mean Gary's hayday created similar high end results as Bill's water caling

cap out at #2 in the ap and 1 BigXII title

It was Krause that told Fitz about Patterson agreeing to be the coach, but I wouldn't quantify that as him blabbing about it. Gary agreed to be the coach and the AD told the media. To add to the drama of this it was the Vaniers who were the money behind Powercat Illustrated, Fitz needed permission to print that.

I know it was and remains the thing to do to blame Fitz for Gary backing out, but the fact was Gary was to blame because he was a small time loser. He had no media scrutiny when he was in the WAC & MWC, even when he moved to the Big 12 he got very little media scrutiny but he was still always in some small media beef. You can take the boy out of Rozel, etc.

The Casey fellow seems more like a KSU-style walk-on to me, but I did get a chuckle out of this Applebee's commercial:

Zero percent chance Snyder would have let that no-star five heart Western Kansas DITR slip through his fingers

Maybe not before that Applebee's commercial. Now, I feel like we have a moral obligation to go bring him back into the fold. He is one of us.

27th year of the Big 12.

3 schools, soon to be 7, have never won or even competed in a Big 12 football championship. 11 of the 14 members have.

Kansas (LOFL), TTech (for some reason I thought they did in the Crabtree/Leach years), and WVU (they get a little slack) have not. Obviously adding 4 more in a few years.

Who is the next to check it off the list? I’ll go with Cincy if Fickell sticks around. But would like to see how the divisions will line up.

The year tech finished with one loss they were in a three way tie with OU and UT, they all beat each other and OU won the three way tiebreaker which was bcs ranking

The south division was 2x better than north tards.  We were lucky to be in the north, otherwise, we may not have had as many CCG opportunities.

The north was significantly better until 2003 or 2004. Even in 2000 when OU won the national championship K-State and Nebraska were both top 10 teams.

Seemed like every CCG included OU or Texas.  Except '98.  :shakesfist:

Well yeah I mean it was the north champ vs the south champ, so the south was going to have a representative. It it was just the top 2 teams then the big12 championships in the 90s and first few years of the 00s would be a lot of NU v CU, and NU v KSU.

Our 97 team doesn’t get nearly the recognition they deserve, if 97 would have been a home game against nub we could very possibly have been playing for a natty that year the only blemish was losing in Lincoln to a very good nub team that went undefeated. I realize we lost by 30 but nub had really close games against both mizz and cu that year and neither of those teams were very good

Wow, Memorial Stadium is only in the middle of the list of the worst college football stadiums:

https://moneywise.com/a/ch-c/worst-stadiums-in-college-football_WorstCollegeStadiumOct08-WESB-MIOS/p-22?utm_source=taboola&utm_medium=Desktop&utm_campaign=12932208&utm_term=msn-anaheim-us&utm_content=3037835869

Can KU be making progress without spending any money by virtue of other stadiums being as crappy / crappier?

Wow, I didn't realize this initially, but this week marks 10 years since Charlie Weis was announced as the new head football coach of KU.
