Also, not specific to this thread but: it helps P5 revenue to not have to buy crap games with crap schools. We should start on this ASAP with P5 schools.

https://collegefootballnews.com/gallery/college-football-attendance-5-year-average-for-every-school

KU at the bottom of the power 5 list for attendance over the last 5 years, which isn't surprising.  On that list, KU was behind the following programs:

Colorado State, Air Force, Fresno State, Temple, Army, Navy, South Florida, San Diego State, Colorado State, ECU

It's not that surprising. Put those teams on a schedule, and KU is likely to go 0-10 against them pretty much every year over the past decade.

I suspect the RONA may push the multi-decades in waiting Memorial Stadium reno.

Memorial Stadium Reno Coming Fall 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021 2022

I don't see any reason for them to wait longer. They've pretty much seen what we are doing and have done. Now they can dress us up in a clown suit and tea bag us to death.

Jeff Long is putting a clown suit on himself fighting David Beatty over $3 million dollars, so . . .

Agreed.  They have had over 10 years to closely watch KSU put up fresh, new, expensive, world class facilities. I would assume the plans to clown us in the one up game are ready to roll.

At first I took this as an exaggeration, but then I thought back on things. It really has been over a decade since they announced they were going to be working on that stadium and the only thing they've been able to do is remove the track.

What happens in 3 or 4 years when Miles leaves without getting them to a bowl game and they still haven't touched that stadium?

Dax shared stuff they were planning back in the day. I delivered the news to the phog that 2017, at the earliest, is when they might start their renovations. I got laughed out of the thread. I was wildly off.

Yup, and now the new AD Long has ditched any previous plans and is getting something bigger and better together. BLUE STADE RISING.

So is this for real?  They went back to the drawing board yet a 12th time?

I'm sorry, but I found this part of the article particularly amusing.

Safeguarding athletes and coaches also has been a priority, Long said, with apparel sponsor Adidas providing about 2,000 masks to KU.

Though I'm happy to see Adidas once again working to protect KU's interests.

Don't worry.  They will make up all of this dough (and their projected $120 million shortfall next year) by doing a little digging in the couch cushions.  Move along.  (Classic reference, props to the originator whose name now slips my mind).
