I believe he was a former KU baseball player.

He and his brother both played baseball at KU.  His brother owns the mattress stores in Wichita that have that sheep in their commercials.  Mattress Firm?

I think that is a money laundering operation. Probably belongs in the favorite conspiracy thread.
 I thought the same thing, then started reading about mattress firm and drug fronts. It's the only conspiracy I believe in.

see my previous post. wouldn't be surprised at all. hox of a feather

Turns out I was thinking of Mattress Hub.

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

How unbelievably awesome would it be to book an Uber and then have your driver turn out to be David Beaty?

Would be a pretty Neat Deal.

Also, lol at Beaty needing to drive Uber for income. That's all just leverage.

It's that time of year kids.

It's time for the annual KBOR 5 year capital projects review.   This ongoing saga as it relates to KU Memorial Stadium has spanned the course of decades.

No doubt the RONA has not been taken into consideration.

KU now says:  $66M in FY 2022 -  97.8M in FY 2023 -  $30M in FY 2025 -  $100M in FY 2026

FTR:  KSU Southendzone $49.9 million FY 2021-2022 $3M on the East Side 2022 Bringing total 7 year expenditures on BSFS to $230m.

New Indoor Football Facility (the 3rd in K-State history), new Volleyball Arena, and Olympic Training Facility:  2024

Kansas City Star: David Beaty disputes key evidence against him, says KU Athletics overstated its case.

This is a partial copy/paste from Stewart Mandel's mailbag from The Athletic:

Q: You now run college football. You get to move four Group of 5 teams to the Power 5 and demote four P5 teams to the G5. Who do you pick, where do you put them and why? (Can’t think of a better time for a good realignment hypothetical with all the season uncertainty.) — Christian S.

A: Thank you for filling my weekly conference realignment quota. Though I’m kind of dreading the second part; fans of the four demoted schools are not going to be happy with me.

Move up to Power 5:

• UCF

• Cincinnati

• BYU

• Houston

Move down to Group of 5:

• Vanderbilt

• Wake Forest

• Oregon State

• Kansas: I don’t want to get too caught up in recency bias, but c’mon Jayhawks. You’ve averaged 2.1 wins a year over the past decade. Maybe go and try to dominate the AAC instead?

They have to at this point.  If you are Beaty, you don't settle for a penny less of the buyout and fees.  I mean, if he can prove Long called up Texas and cost him a job....

lol - I'm sure KU wishes they'd just paid him at this point but are in too deep.  Now he's going to completely embarrass everyone at KU while also getting paid.

Embarrassing KU while getting paid is practically a requirement for KU football coaches lately.

also, in my mind,  this is going to highlight a significant issue as it relates to Dearmon

he obviosuly was coaching players before he transitioned out of his "analyst" role

i refuse to believe that even KU would promote a former NAIA head coach from analyst to OC without seeing him coach kids in their program
