Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

He'll get KU to ISU or maybe even KSU territory.  He's a very good coach.

He'll coach there for either 5 or 6 years, average 6 wins a year, and beat K-State twice. In other words he'll be Mangino without the Orange Bowl and the coach some on here can't stop having tantrums about, with less success against the rival school. Second best my coach in our lifetime, worse than Snyder 2.0 worse than whoever we hire.

He has a national championship but he likely won't even be top 50 in fbs coach salaries next season, they picked him out of the bargain bin.

It's hard to square the idea that he's a good coach with the fact that he ended up at KU. Like, it seems his options were pretty limited.

This is actually something I've been thinking about as well. Why would someone who can actually coach want to go to KU?

With a coach that old, I'll be interested in his staff.  He'll need a legit OC and some recruiters.  I wouldn't be shocked if he pulls a Snyder-like "getting the band back together" with former players and coaches.

In his first year, Les Miles will be recruiting players that were 6 or 7 when he won his title.  KU will be, at best, competing with Vandy for players in SEC country.

Beaty got Pooka.  They should have kept him and been patient with him like Mizzou was with Pinkel.

Allegedly he wants Briles as OC, which seems impossible.

If they are willing to give Briles a job, they should have just made him head coach.

Just flipped through the phog, they are so excited, good for them.

One thing I thought was odd is the squawk faithful concluded that a low salary for les means that he's here to win and not for a payday. To me it proves no one else wanted les. Different perspectives I suppose.

I actually might feel sorry for them if this hire doesn't work out for them....

hahahahahaha, just kidding.  They're losers.
Fifteen minutes later, when the Kansas locker room opened its doors to the media, the Jayhawks were still crying. Literally, bawling. All of them. I've never seen anything like it, and I've seen devastated college locker rooms -- after losses in the Final Four, the national championship game -- ever

The presser clips I've seen make it feel like he's genuinely sad, not like emotionally happy to be there, just sad.

He's probably received some sobering feedback with the good jobs he's shown interest in the last couple years and he was realizing the only one he could get was KU.

But he proved them all wrong and got a HC gig.

I think this was a good hire for the Hawks. I think he'll have them bowling in 3-4 years, maybe less. And then consistent bowls after that.
If KSU still has Bill, the Hawks are going to recruit circles around the Cats.

There's a good shot they are bowling next year or the year after.

Les can do things with a good RB.
