Probably the closest 3+ touchdown game I've seen. Game was much closer than score. Great moral victory for our guys

"Kansas down only 2 touchdowns and momentum clearly wearing blue! Those folks that left early should consider coming back in!" - KU radio guy (really)

What's the poor guy supposed to say? I feel bad for the radio guys of horrible teams. The ku guys, the royals announcers from 1990-2012, the Ksu basketball announcers before Huggins.

Having to watch a team get blown out game after game after game and stay fairly positive the whole time seems like a difficult job. The KU football announcer has my respect, and I fully expect him to make ridiculous comments like this from time to time.

This is the most accurate picture.  How can they hide the beauty of the setting with THE HILL with the video board.  I mean, you are dropping $350 million, raise a bit more and put two in - one in each corner like that did in EMAWland, and embrace that setting.

It sort of like a dude dating a hot girl and then not letting her get dressed up when you go out because he's afraid others will stare.  It is almost criminal to deny those less blessed that eye candy.

They announced a lot of other improvements as well.  Is $350m just for the stadium or for everything?

That’s just for making the structure of the stadium safe and up to code.

If you read the press statement it also includes the baseball stadium, Allen fieldhouse, and a couple of buildings on campus .it's not all for just the football stadium

There was no way they are going to raise that much money and not have Massa Self get a little taste.

maybe the rendering isnt showing examples of fans in the stands, but actually statues in memorial of fans that are built into the stadium and part of the design.

very poignant for a memorial stadium

KU AD (our mole)

"Buoyed by the largest donation in the athletic department’s history, KU chancellor Douglas Girod and athletic director Sheahon Zenger on Friday announced details of a $350 million, five-year campaign dubbed “Raise The Chant,” a plan that includes upgrades to Memorial Stadium and Hoglund Ballpark, construction of a new 3,000-seat volleyball arena and completion of renovations at Allen Fieldhouse."

 Very similar to my thoughts
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

I have to respect his enthusiasm.  Once KU got within 15 in the 2nd half he repeatedly told the fans that KU was on the verge of its greatest weekend in football history! :excited:

I almost started to believe. :Woot:

Toward the end of the game he said "all those people that said last week's game wasn't as close as the final score because of KU's late TD better be saying this opposite this week. We all know this was a much closer game than the final score."

He is pretty amazing.

That stadium reno is super sucky, ftr. Props for getting to paint your shitty stadium in its greatest light and still having it look like a football dmz.
