Last thing is that there has been a mass influx of MU and Syracuse grads into mass media, and how the mass media "generates" storylines via the ESPN method.  They can simply parrot a topic and if repeated enough, can become "the story".  MU grads, no explanation needed, but many Syracuse grads also seem to dislike KU.  Once something becomes "mainstream" it is hard to shake, much like even despite 2008 and 2012, the flameouts against UNI and VCU put us right back into the "choker" label.

lol, dorks

I mean can you imagine watching the cats, and they are down 3, in field goal range, and the qb fumbles the ball trying to spike it and the clock runs out?  I mean I don't know how i'd react, it's such a bizarre situation and so KU.

It's a funny way to lose, but they were only technically in what is is generally understood as "field goal range." I think their kicker is 1-5 in 40+?
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

lock this thread up and throw a cork in it because i watched last week's game and this Beaty guy is no joke.  yes, i'll always be a CATS fan 1st, but Mr.Beaty- if you are out there, you have earned my respect.
your brand of football is no nonsense.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Spoke with a KU fan last night who reassured me that KU's football program wouldn't see a return to prominence until LHC Bill Snyder retires. He used the last time period of Bill's absence as an example. After I mentioned that they also had a good coach that they fired he just chuckled and changed the topic.

Can you imagine how you'd feel if the only chance your team had to become respectable would be for your big bro's coach to retire...and the guy kept coaching into his late 70s?

I'll tell you how you'd feel.  You'd be hurting.

Well, they may no longer be "Hurting," but they are still suffering from some serious inflammation in some rather sensitive regions.

They did play an inspiring second half. If they can hang with Memphis on Saturday, I think they will turn some heads. ISU had better be afraid, because Beaty is cooking up a storm for them, and we all know what happens when it storms in Ames.

it rains mainly on the plains?

i'm only kidding.
what's not a joke is that 2nd half comeback by the hawks.
they just don't hurt anymore.  beaty went into the halftime locker room, pulled up WebMD, and got to work.

some of us might not realize how 24/7 365 of hard work manifests itself because we've become soft.  hard work and great feeling, thy name is jayhawk.  go cats though.
but damn it beaty- quit being so dang good all the time my gosh!

KU Football:  Dr. Beaty, it hurts when I touch it.

Dr. Beaty:  Well then don't touch it lol.  Just kidding, you need a winning attitude and good fundamentals.  Also recruiting.  You're cured.

Their kicker would have missed the kick.  He is a Jayhawk and that is what they do

So, in a way, the fumbled snap and ball spike on their knees is just another cruel joke played in football purgatory.  It provides them with a bit of hope due to the rest of the second half, and then will come back to suck the life out of them slowly but surely over the next season or two.

Excellent.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but wasn't KU down by three? Meaning it would only have been a game-tying, going to OT field goal?

Aren't you the same guy who predicted (after the first quarter last week) that KU would win going away?
