Beems good luck with your recruiting class.  I hope you get some play makers that want to help turn the program in a positive direction.

KU's current recruiting class has 17 players from the state of Texas.  When I've been critical of K-State's shitty recruiting classes in the past, the excuse from Butthurt Nation was that a 2-star from Texas was better than a 3-star from the state of Kansas.  Now that the roles are reversed, KU's recruiting class sucks, and K-State's is awesome.

God bless Butthurt Nation.

beems, I have always thought both our classes sucked and believe that holds true for both of our classes this year.

Ya, I agree. However, I'd be super pissed if KU was stealing guys from mhk like we are with Lawrence and Mill Valley. That crap would sting. :frown:

Only if they were talented. We should totally set up some "highly recruited by K-State" players from Riley Co. that are actually very mediocre and let KU steal them. The squawks would make so many jokes at our expense. Then when the player proved they were not D1 level we'd laugh in their big dumb faces.

Agreed, steve.

It's just funny watching Butthurt Nation pretend like KU's class is any worse than some of the dogshit classes K-State has recruited in the past.  For years, a vocal majority of Butthurt Nation told anyone who would listen that recruiting rankings don't matter.  Now that K-State's class is finally ranked higher than KU's, recruiting rankings matter all of a sudden.

According to Rivals, K-State's class is ranked 49th.  KU's is 63rd.  The difference is negligible at best.  K-State's class definitely looks better on paper, but we won't know for sure until at least 2-3 years from now.  Aqib Talib was a 2-star from Texas, and no one expected him to end up being a 1st round NFL draft pick and an NFL Pro Bowler.  K-State is notorious for taking 5-heart walk-ons and molding them into All-Conference, grade-A studs.  This recruiting stuff is an inexact science.

The truth is that as long as Snyder's in Manhattan, K-State will continue to develop its players and crank out seven to ten wins a year.  As long as KU's football program hires shitty coaches and completely neglects its football program, KU will suck.  That's just the way it is.

The only fair way to judge a recruiting class is waiting four years, right? Last week, we broke down how the Big 12's top signees of 2011 panned out. Today, we're re-ranking those classes and handing out new letter grades.

1. Kansas State Wildcats
2011 grade: C+
2015 grade: B+
Top signees: WR Tyler Lockett, OT Cody Whitehair, DE Meshak Williams, S Dante Barnett, WR Curry Sexton
Breakdown: Lockett became an all-time K-State great, and LHC Bill Snyder's staff developed a lot of standout players from this class. Lockett and Whitehair were two-stars who'll finish as four-year starters. Don't forget that Williams was the Big 12's Defensive Lineman of the Year in 2012. KSU did count transfers Arthur Brown and Bryce Brown toward this class, too, and Arthur did earn conference Newcomer of the Year honors.

Exactly.  Rivals did the same thing for KU's '04 class (with Talib, Rivera, Mortensen, Collins, McClinton, Keith, etc) and it was eventually re-ranked as a top five class nationally.  In '04, though, the recruiting class wasn't even top 50.

So we agree that the difference is not negligible, but we don't know exactly how badly K-State will continue to dominate KU over the next four years until four years from now.

That class also had several members who contributed to a Big 12 title.

So, yeah.  The difference is negligible.

just so we are clear.......it's really not the same thing when you compare the lone KU example with one that we could dial up a dozen or more times with this re-letter grade argument you got going on......... :nono:

I'd rank out OU's class as a solid C+. KU gets an F-. ISU gets an F+. B+ sounds about right for our Wildcats.
