It's weird how many ku fans have never left the state of Kansas.

same percentage as ku fans that have never been to Lawrence?

I mean, Jim did well at Stanford.  KSU is basically the Stanford of the Midwest.

Stanford had a bunch of white try hard 5heart types and a culture of doing it the right way.

Jim likes to win and we are already doing a sickening amt of that.

Seems like it could be as seamless of a transition as possible.  Also, rumblings that Jim's time with Leavitt on staff has fully converted Jim and his wife to EMAW and that Jim watches every one of our games as it is.  So, he is already familiar with out personnel, our strengths, and our weaknesses.

I wouldn't be surprised if this has been in the works since Bill's second return.  Build it back up for his BBF Jim.

This feels real, guys.

Right down the road from Olathe(I mean, we even have a branch in Olathe), and a direct flight to TX for 'cruits and Chicago for shopping, drinking, and Lol's with wife's GF's.

Could it be more perfect?

Harbaugh to KSU seems reasonable.   :dunno:

^^^THIS^^^ might be one of the funniest things that could ever happen.  Assuming, of course, that he doesn't burn our program to the ground in a Prince-like run of mediocrity.

Chance of Harb. going to this shithole -50%. Less money, crap facilities, dork for an AD, and he'd have to live in Lawrence. Drugs must run rampant at this place and used all day long by anyone thinking they have a shot at this guy. Don't give a crap where his wife is from. She's not bringing home the check. San Fran. vs. CrapU???? Really?? You work your entire coaching career to get to the pinnacle of football and all of a sudden you say "Hey, I think I'll go to KU" "This is a really great coaching opportunity" "This is a can't miss deal" "This has lots of potential and shouldn't take me more than 5-8 years of getting my head caved in before I can turn this around"

I think the rumblings were misinterpreted.  They were that he would come to KSU, not KU.  So, again, it's reasonable.

Rumors floating around that Harbaugh's wife was house hunting around Colbert Hills with her parents.   :dunno:  Someone said they took a connecting flight from Dallas to fly right into MHK and that was one of the perks about Harbaugh coming to K-State.

The fact that you don't see the potential that Jim has in Lawrence is very comical.  Stanford was 16-40 the 5 years before Jim got there.  Once he got his guys in there, Stanford went from being terrible in the Pac-12 to winning the Orange Bowl.  The only reason Shaw has had success is because he inherited what Jim had already built the short time he was there.

The Big 12 is a much better conference than the crap Pac-12 with much deeper recruiting opportunities.  You give the reins to Jim with the opportunities available in Lawrence, watch out.

Delusion has a tendency to make the aspirations and potential seem far greater than it really is.

I personally, would think Jim Harbaugh would be a great addition to the Big 12 because it makes KU competitive and add to the overall strength of the conference.  However, realistically, he *might* be influenced by his wife enough, along with the discontent in SF, to make it more in the realm of reality, but more accurately, within a few feet of the actual outside boundary (ie, almost out of fantasyland, near unicorn avenue.)  However, if the winter passes and it's some coordinator that has ties to Mangino that ends up getting it, how will you spin this as being better than hiring Harbaugh?  I expect your zeal to be at least as intense as your current "You just wait and see!" energy.

To think that Jim would bring anything other than a positive to the Big 12 is hysterical.  The guy has won in the D1 ranks, and turned a franchise around that had been in disarray for years, in the 49ers.  He is hired, drafts Smith and Kap, who have both been successful, yes Smith has had his issues but a very productive player none the less.

In his first season he took the 49ers deeper than they had been in almost 15 years.  The next year after resigning Smith who eventually got hurt Kap started.  When Smith got healthy Jim knew Kap was the future.  That kind of talent recognition is rare in today's coaching landscape.  Apply that to a similar QB in Cozart, unreal potential.

Jim sees the potential that Lawrence provides and is going to make the jump.  I didn't address the OC getting the job because we don't want anything to do with Mangino anymore.

No one was questioning Harbaugh's resume when it comes to building successful teams.  I was questioning your fantasy dream of thinking KU would ACTUALLY sign Harbaugh.    The first step is for Harbaugh to actually say, publicly or privately, he is interested in going to KU and there is movement in terms of negotiations to that effect.  That's a BIG FAT HUGE EFFING IF!   The fact there has been insidery speculation on ESPN that his wife wants to come home and be near family, and that, perhaps at one time, he MIGHT have been interested, says nothing about the current situation.  Far be it from me to throw cold water on your wet dream public spanking of the monkey, by all means.  Just stroke that Harbaugh boner pud.

Jim was coming to KU until Zenger signed Turner, there is really no arguing this fact.  So I don't understand how it is impossible in your mind to think that it wouldn't be probable again.  To say that he has to openly show interest in the position when he clearly wanted it 5 years ago is very short sighted of you.

What has been shown to not be speculation is the animosity between Jim and his GM.  That in itself tells me he will not be back in SF next year.  Which begs the question, where will he go?

Jims meeting with Zulu was Zulu putting together a package proposal for KSU's AD position.  He knew Jim really wants Bills job and thought he could ride the coattails into a position at football and academia mecca at KSU.
