Highlights:

Nobody knew this Luck kid was any good at the time.

Nobody wanted Harbaugh.

Lawrence is on par with Palo Alto.

KU had the best facilities in the country.

Stanford assistants were asking around for a realtor's number because you do that publicly and they did not know how google worked or whatever.

A+ source tells me that Harbaugh sent his resume to KU, and Lew did not respond because he was already mentally committed to hiring Gill.  There wasn't a contract for Harbaugh, or even a response to the resume he faxed to KU.

Not sure why they keep talking about it.  Whether true or not, it did not happen.  They continue to fantasize about this parallel universe of Harbaugh accepting the KU job and taking the team to new heights.  It's weird and unhealthy.

Saw on the bottom espn ticker that Jake Heaps (KU transfer) is listed as co #1 on Miami (I think it was) 1st depth chart......that Charlie sure could develop talent  :sdeek:

I really enjoyed this post:

Harbaugh sucks! Why should KU have hired him? We have Charlie Weis now! This is the logic of most fans here on this board.

Heaps is terrible. He was terrible at BYU, he was terrible at KU, and if he starts at Miami, then Miami is in trouble.

Really makes me wished I would have carried this torch a lot harder and longer back-in-the-day:

We could have hired Eddie Sutton

Eddie Sutton begged for the job (post Kruger)

Tubby Smith accepted the job (post Altman, and he reportedly did, then changed his mind)

Kind of makes me wonder what would have happened if Walter Payton had not been pulled off the bus he was taking on his way to Manhattan.  Just think how that would have changed KSU.

I almost started a "Miami football is hurting" thread when I saw that.

gotta respect the die hards

I bet our FAD looked like that in the 80's (30 yrs ago)

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

I count 10 "event staff" type security people to keep the crowds in line and off of the field.  This may be an even more unnecessary show of force than the small town police chiefs driving surplus army tanks around their towns.

they should borrow Baylor's EZ tarp, cover all the seats in the north EZ, and put more barcaloungers in the pasture there.
