ku shows temp restricted contributions of $13 million, not saying that isn't legit, but would love to know what that's for and where it came from, because without that number, they would have had an operational deficit in FY 2013.

Not buying that ku increased its athletic budget $10 million year over year either.

Here's an explanation for restricted net assets:

Quote
Temporarily restricted net assets are those whose use by the Corporation has been limited by donors to a specific time period or purpose. Permanently restricted net assets have been restricted by donors to be maintained by the Corporation in perpetuity.

As for the increase in KU's athletic budget, a lot of it comes from the new Big 12 TV contract and our contracts with adidas and ESPN.

Wow, I see KU is counting Adidas wear / shoes as revenue.  That will sure pay the bills.

That just proves how little of money basketball brings to the table. Have to win 10 in a row just to get out of the red.

KU won a division title in '07 and is the only football program in the state of Kansas to win 12 games and a BCS Bowl.  KU also owns the all-time head-to-head series against K-State by 25 games and has a better all-time record.

It's one of the top three or four athletic apparel contracts in the country.  It definitely helps pay the bills and benefits the entire athletic department.  The IMG contract is big as well.

So why did Mizzou play OU in the big 12 championship game?

So, y'all had some success before the Vietnam War and one miracle season since.

Congrats, I suppose.

It's pretty great to talk about Lil' Bro.   It really makes me proud whenever K-State (that's Big Bro) makes another paradigm shift on the Football (athletic) front and then ku scrambles to catch up.   We make ku football better, we make ku athletics better.
