This rivalry is boring. Same old talking points regurgitated over and over.

Yep.  'Taters have gone from "KU is the new futility U" to "look at our new pressbox"  to "KU hasn't won a regular season conference championship in a men's sport outside of golf and basketball in 31 years."  And outside of baseball, the Yankees have never won a World Series.

The argument is never settled because we are typically good at different sports.  No matter how you cut it, you can't stack the two sports up next to each other to determine a direct dominance.  The argument is futile. . .which is why we love it isn't it? Everyone in the argument feels right.  So, everyone gets to feel superior.  Win - Win.

Its this.  That is why our edge in facilities is a nice tie breaker

KU is the flagship institution.  There are KU bars in every major city like Chicago, New York, Lenexa, etc.  You don't see KSU bars in those cities because no one outside of Manhattan cares about KSU.  KU's basketball program is worth more than KSU's football program, from a financial perspective.  KU is home to the best basketball coach in the country and also invented the sport.

Oh god, the "bars in major cities" line of BS.   Section 1.1 of the ku fan affirmation and validation playbook.

Let me tell you something ku friend.   On ESPN Gameday in 2012, ESPN's Tom "Feel Good" Rinaldi did a tour of NYC bars who hosted watch parties, the K-State bar was front and center, the ku bar, no where to be found.  So take that bro!

This is like a hybrid sock fest we have going on.

I would think "Financial Perspective" would mean money?   35 million more than 17 million right?

btw...   Severance payments 8.5 million, Is Terry Allen still getting a check too?

Naismith invented the sport.. . .when he was in Springfield, Illinois. That's like giving us credit for Illinois run to the title in BBall because Weber is our coach now.

Naismith also invented the football helmet, which means KU basically invented football as well.

You're using info from 2012.

2013 numbers are not available, but you can go all the way back to 2008 and see that our Football program yearly is worth more than your Basketball program.  In fact, most years your Football program is worth more that your Basketball program.  That would be a truly scarey fact if I was a KU fan.

KU's athletic revenue was up 7% from '13, which would put the total budget around $80 million or so.  K-State still has a way to go before it catches up with big bro.

Revenue was up 7%, but what about expenses?  I know it's kind of unAmerican, but you want to spend less than you make.
  This might help....

I mean, I know the jury's still out, but assuming phog.net is a sock, I just figured he's like the gE scout team. Train 'em up, and all.

Looks like our basketball program is more profitable than ku's basketball program as well. Feels good to be rich.
