--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

People forget that KU had more recent success than Stanford back when we were trying to hire Harbaugh.

Stanford:

2007 - 4-8
2008 - 5-7
2009 - 8-5

Kansas:

2007 - 12-1
2008 - 8-5
2009 - 5-7

Even in 2009, KU started the year 5-0 and in the top 15.  Our football program had just built a brand new $31 million football complex and had set an all-time attendance record.  It wasn't a dire situation like it was when Gill was fired in '11.  Who knows whether or not Harbaugh would have been successful at KU, or left after one season, but it couldn't have been any worse than what transpired under Gill.

Is there anyone else on this earth that lives in the past more than Beems. Everyday is the 07-08' season in his mind.

Has anybody else noticed the direction in which each of the two programs were trending when all of this "allegedly" took place?

Looks like a clear example of two programs moving in opposite directions to me...

It's ok beems. Harbaugh is going to die soon. It wouldn't have mattered anyways.

Yeah but hitching your NFL future to a returning Andrew Luck or a rs freshman in Jordan Webb was probably the toughest call of all.

Little know fact that you mongoloid cesspool tenant farmers would totally misinform people about: Vince Lombardi was on his way from Brooklyn to Lawrence to coach the kufball team, but the boiler on the locomotive pulling his train exploded near green bay. After walking 3 miles through muddy pasture to get to the motel the old Penn Central RR was putting the passengers in, he grabbed a paper to clean off his boots. iTJUST SO HAPPENED the packers were running a help wanted ad for head coach.  Vince figured 'why the hell not, i'm stranded", applied, and the rest is history.

Tubby Smith was literally in the building.  But K-State and Smith couldn't quite agree to terms.  Heard from a source (A+++), that Smith to this day still regrets not pulling the trigger.

Eddie Sutton never forgave K-State for not giving him a chance.

Wanted it so bad he'll carry the grudge to his grave.

One of the best coaches in the NFL bleeds crimson and blue.  What's not to like?

I was lucky enough to meet JH and 49er GM Trent Baalke through my last job. I literally joked with JH around the time of last year's AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am about how he was way too good for that job. He lauhed but didn't disagree. I asked if he ever seriously considered it and he said something along the lines of "I mean, I think that every good coach looks at challenges like that and wants to prove that he can be successful and turn things around. Was I going to leave Stanford for that? No way."

To be fair, I don't blame him. It was the closest they ever got to #TITLETOWN (despite not even appearing in the Dr. Pepper or having a relevant baseball program). Of course a hobby sport title has a little bit of luster, but after 6 or 7 months that starts to wear off. Fast forward to now, the football program is a dumpster dumptruck fire, hobby sport has underachieved for a few str8 years, and baseball is still just making up the numbers. It's really all they have.

Ok, the sentence structure is affirmative in identifying me as a mongoloid, but do I farm cesspools, or am I a cesspool tenant?

Pro tip:  "Mongoloid" is no longer in current clinical usage.

I will say this, ever since it became more clear that K-State was likely to embark on an additional $62 million dollar in facilities upgrades, Beems has been on a validation and affirmation rampage for the ages.

He's going to be livid when we move to the East and South, and we work on Bramlage as well.

I assume we will also add seats to Tointon in the near future as well.

“Spring games are always a trying time due to depth at certain positions,” said Kansas coach Charlie Weis, who will hold KU’s spring game on April 12. “Concern for injuries is always an issue, not being able to field two entire competitive teams is a problem.”

We'd settle for one competitive team, CW. Just one.
