Why the states of South Dakota and North Dakota have two small state schools (instead of one big school, each) baffles me. People always seem to say Iowa and Kansas should only have one state school, but I think we've found two smaller states where that could/should have been done.

I remember playing one of the early ncaa football video games as a kid and thinking the game designers really eff'd up Northwestern's stadium.  Little did I know that this place actually existed. It is like the Mecca of optical illusion stadiums!

Ya. For a second try to ignore the optical illusion upper deck and just look down at the lower level. See how the entry portals (no idea what these are actually called) to the stadium have two main rows running all the way across the field? Then there are ALSO a few random entry portals forming a really half-assed middle row. And I don't think they're connected to any major staircases or pathways. So do they just....open up and plop a few lucky people right down in their seats?? Their concourse must just be an absolute mess of tiny little half-staircases.



Let's not neglect the rest of the other stadium for weirdness. Look at the student side. There's a subtle curvature from the 5 yard line on the right to the 5 yard line on the left...and then it straightens out and extends well beyond the end zone. Almost Kyle Field-esque. So bizarre. I mean wtf.

I actually really like the way the Northwestern stadium is designed. They need to get good at football so they can put some kind of crazy dome-roofed press box in and get rid of their Dev, though.

Hey, even I'll give that to them. They do have a really, really nice hockey arena with some of the most comfortable seat's I've ever sat in. Ever seat in that place has that nice pillow top cushioning that perfectly conforms to my oblong ass. I'm a big guy and I give these seats an A. The only thing I hate about that place is the obsessed Whouix fans who have only one thing going for that school: hockey.

Skin Ben what are your thoughts on having more rows at the 50 yard line than the goal line?

Northwestern does this and I guess it makes sense and even looks sleek, but I'm against it. I like having a ton of fans right on the goal line screaming their heads off to help the D make a goal line stand. It seems like at Northwestern once a team is inside the ten they look up and see like 12 rows of fans and aren't intimidated and can focus just fine and boom, touchdown visitors.

What?  Those strange endzone tower thingies would come in handy, and the general curvy shape weirdness of the place would confuse the walkers right into booby traps.  Pretty solid plan if you ask me.

eff the seats.. 99.9% of why this arena is the tits, is cause of the LED ribbon board (ALL THE WAY AROUND!) and the hanging banners. (fOOD take notes)
