Two or three weeks ago I read an amazing article about the Kibbie Dome, I'll see if I can find it and post it here.

Seems like a lot of work for a shitty experience! I saw in the comments that last time they did this they could only use one end zone and had to switch each offensive possession? And this year it looks like the teams share a sideline?

The Kibbie Dome is such a treasure. It looks like it has been renovated a bit in recent years. Pretty cool. Anyone else choose the Vandals as your dynasty team in the old NCAA games in-part because of the stadium?
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Yeah I watched some of that game and they mandated that every offensive possession had to go in the same direction.  This field is set up along the right field line but I think when the Bears were playing at Wrigley the field was aligned with left field and it didn't really fit that way either.  lol pud stadium.

I had no idea Pullman and Moscow were that close.

Yup, it's kinda a mind eff to have two large schools from two large (size-wise) states be basically walking distance from each other.

Those 2 football stadiums seat 33K and 16K.

I was talking about the schools, not the stadiums, a 11k student school and a 20k student school both located in the middle of nowhere but yeah right next to each other in two different states is not what you'd expect. This isn't like some small time liberal arts colleges right next to each other in upstate NY or something.

Sure, but those stadium sizes (and the enrollment sizes) don’t really reflect large schools.

You can probably tell by the court layout but that's Gregory Gym, where their volleyball team plays.

Yup. Hoops team played there until ‘77. Court looks wack but this is incredibly cool. Idgaf if it makes me a tuck: do what it takes to play a game in Ahearn.

The difference is that Gregory Gym has been in continual use, has had upgrades, and is very small. Ahearn has been abandoned at this point, it isn't used for anything but indoor track practice and it's days are numbered for that too.

Sounds like it’s time to give it the sendoff it deserves

Just wait until we play a whole season in the new 3k capacity volleyball arena while bramlage gets renovated. Then play a students only game in there once a year.

That's great. Looks like they even have a stage like all of the old gyms in small KS towns did.
