That's a pretty impressive stadium, bird tail endzone notwithstanding.  Wonder if they'll be able to fill it out.
It was pretty empty last year except the UK game. Was mighty blue in the stands.

Would you go if you're getting Petrino'd?

The victims of the Adidas scandal have shown a lot of remorse and have adequately been penalized for their monetary and competitive gains.

Can’t remember if we’ve talked about this or not, and at this point it’s like 5 moz. old, but whatever. Here’s this. Happy for them. Just wish it could be on campus.

https://www.kpbs.org/news/2019/feb/28/sdsu-announces-contractor-for-sdsu-west-stadium/

I know MLS wants to expand, but is San Diego a viable option?  Would be a good thing to combo with.
The competing ballot initiative was actually called "Soccer City" and was designed by a group that wants to bring a pro soccer team to San Diego. Most people felt it was a better idea to use the ground for the SDSU campus to expand since they were basically land locked at this point. They will will share with a soccer team if one comes in.

I do think we should blow out the south end zone and make a lower level similar to that one, though. Big bars, lounge areas, field suites, etc. Put the visiting team in the upper deck and fix a lot of the crap sightlines in the south with a steeper grade (similar to the north).

Holy crap, somehow that didn’t even register with me. Think I was too focused on the pointy tail of the bleachers.

Sorry Tom, but it doesn't count as a Tom post unless it ends with

Fenway "Pawk"

The tour guide noted this was a bucket list item for many because of all the history at which point the hawks in the group showed themselves, "Yeah, like Allen Fieldhouse."

First two pix.  The ramp and concession stand where Kevin Costner and James Earl Jones got pizza in Field of Dreams.

Yes.  We toured the green monster before Jorge Soler made it beg for mercy.

Lots of obstructed view seats.  Red seats are original from 1912.  Green under the roof were put in during the 30s.  They are still original.  Last pic the one red seat marks Ted Williams 502 ft home run.

What kind of inbred genetic anomaly equates a 1950's shithole that smells like piss with a great venue like Fenway Park?  Oh, right, KU fans.  I bet Fenway Park wasn't built under the false pretenses of being an armory.  Cheating and lying goes back a long ways in Lawrentucky.

I have sat everywhere there is to sit in that place, I love it so much. The experience is the best in baseball although the ballpark isn't. The new areas like the seats around the dugouts, the lf and rf roof decks, and the monster are spacious, comfortable, and as good as you'll find anywhere. Those blue seats, infield, between the poles, are absolute torture, kids can't sit in them comfortably. The bleachers are comfortable but they face odd directions, some to home plate but you have to turn to see center and left field, some face cf and you have to sit sideways to see home plate.

But man, the sights, smells, neighborhood, amenities, it's all the absolute best. I miss it so much.

The year we went to the Texas Bowl in Houston to beat A&M I went on a trip with the (now wife) and saw that game and then drove through to Orlando to watch her school LSU beat Louisville in the BWW bowl.  We stopped off in Baton Rouge on the way to meet the fam and I got to see the LSU campus and stade.  Those pics were pretty much the same ones I took.  Just one facade of Tiger Stadium is our entire stadium, just about.  Pretty amaze place, lots of purple, felt like home.
