Has San Jose State's stadium been covered in here lately?

They previously removed the seating on one side of their stadium, and just had grass hill. Now they've built some kind of permanent facility there. My goodness.

Texas and Oklahoma high schools have nicer stadiums.

That will look really nice on TV.  Maybe they could put some bouncy houses around for the kids

Wow, so I had to look into that travesty, and it turns out they're doing the KU thing where they renovate/build stuff in phases. They say they have plans to return seating to that side and incorporate the new athletic center that you currently see, but also like KU, money and a schedule are currently up in the air. Apparently the stadium has been used for some pretty big soccer matches in the past and at one point held 37,000 people for a ZZ Top concert!

Yeah, the San Jose Earthquakes used to play there. At the outset of Major League Soccer, San Jose used to get big national team matches too, but NorCal has been passed by when it comes to being a must be location for major soccer matches in this country. The world cup will be at Levi's Stadium in 2026, but they aren't getting any good matches.

I believe they put umbrella tables and chairs out on those patios. You can sit there and watch a game and drink booze drinks I believe.

But it's still pretty meh

Mr worldwide pitbull has secured the naming rights to fiu's stadium for $6 million over 5 years. How long until our cats are playing at "the street"?

Didn't realize Houston is already doing a renovation to their 10-year-old stadium.

Now that Houston is in a power conference, I get the feeling it's going places.

Gonna laugh when EA Sports College Football '28 comes out and they've quietly gone back to the existing east side because it's still there in real life.

Honestly, that stadium is spot on for a fringe G5/P4 nice new stadium build. Right along with the likes of Houston, Colorado St., UAB, San Diego St., etc.

Good for them.

Young Robert in 1986 from a coffee table book called "A week at Kansas State". Gtfoomf with comparing him to the white owl. Robert has been part of EMAW lore since before I was even alive.

Northwestern's temp field is almost done. I can't believe they pulled this off, it's awesome. Those last season games are going to be a real bitch though.

I feel like the players HAVE to jump in the lake and have a big pool party.

They're playing Ohio State and Illinois in Wrigley. I'm very surprised they aren't playing Wisconsin there.

It's not done yet. Those bleachers along the lake are getting built up and they will go end zone to end zone.

Setting aside the (kinda) loller part to even have to do this in terms of not having a stadium for two years and resorting to this. It is legitimately no small feat to create a temporary facility like this and have it be "good". It is so hard to put something like this together in not a lot of time and make it be functional for FBS level football. Let alone the cost, I know we can poke more fun a ku cause of it but it ain't cheap either to make a facility that is just going to be a thing for two years only while you are also making a new stadium that is like a half billion dollars. Those crazy sons of bitches did it.
