state-run/influenced media and state propaganda/messaging. It's my hobby and other than the cats quite possibly the most interesting thing in the world to me. I haven't worked on Cuba in years, but I still read the main paper a few times every week. And oooooooh man don't get me started on Russia and Venezuela. Maybe the most fascinating media environments in the world.

this is a good one. seems like it would take a lot of time and language skills to get into though so I'm out.

Anything about the USSR and Eastern Bloc, from the structure of the economy to their military to their media. I find it all incredibly fascinating.
