i knew it, but only because i was in lawrence over the 4th visiting some relatives and one of them was wearing a "we beat titletown in basketball" t-shirt that had an upside down powercat and a score of last years basketball game on it.

his wife told me that he washed it the night before so that he could wear it to the picnic because he knew i was going to be there. i was all "what in the world?".

Similar experience here.  Visited a bro last week and every tv in the house had some memorial DVD of their game against us playing on loop.  His wife said that he has refused to watch anything else since like April.  She has to Netflix basically anything else she wants to watch.  Feel kinda sorry for her, you know?

It all seemed a little surreal when I visited said bro.  I mean, he had his fistpumps well timed out to the point where we were just grilling out back with the windows open and during mid-conversation and mid-flip of a burger, he put down his beer and fistpumped when that one tall white kid hit a short layup and got an And-One called for him.  I mean, he wasn't even paying attention to the memorial DVD loop playing at the time and he still totally nailed the fistpump timing. 

I had no idea this was that important to them.

well to be fair, pretty much half of them (including this one) were started by ku fans who are wanting to be our rivals because they beat us head to head in a basketball game last year and tied us for the big12 basketball championship. shoot the messenger and leave us out of it beems.
