Covered decks don't need to be stained as often. Should put a roof over the deck. While they workers are there doing that, grab a laborer and tell him you will give him a hundy cash to stain the deck that weekend.

It was hard and took forever and sys was right about it being too hot. feel like a complete dumbass for not paying someone.

In DIY'er SD's defense, staining a deck sucks a lot more than doing most other DIY'ey type stuff does.

i have a weird pergola thing or whatever with beams above but not really covered. seems like it'll be a total pain in the ass to get all that stuff, just demo anything above my feet?

Just get a power sprayer, get on your roof or whatever and just make it rain all over your deck.

hmm, can probably do that to clean it, but what about staining it? there's like a dozen or so "joists" for lack of better term and then about 50 long-ass 2x4 things going across it. seems like it would take weeks? also, doesn't seem designed for a human being to walk around on
