yes, they'll think less of you if you don't (prolly never get a promotion, seem complacent to bosses, etc...). it's all part of the sales game, everyone does it.

Nah my boss is a stud/boss. It'll get better, they probably just haven't gotten used to having interns to worry about providing with work.

Thank you. Don't worry I don't try to go fast anymore, that was only the first few days because I thought I needed to work that hard. Quickly realized it was totally unnecessary and nobody around me was working nearly as hard. It's a weird change going from school (where I have to work hard) to this.

Both years I interned the exact same thing happened to me. I thought getting crap done and messing around on the web was just an internship-type thing.

Year 1: Got my stuff done in decent time (wasn't trying to go fast), the job was going well and I had a ton of free time on my hands. Usually went home around 3:30 or 4 and they still allowed me to count a full day. Did this all summer and within a week or 2 after I got back to Manhattan (stud internship was in DC), I received an offer for an internship the following summer.

Year 2: Did not take internship from previous company so worked for a different company doing stud stuff in Florida. Got done with my work fast and efficiently so played games on the PC (while at work).

After games, coaches often tell me I have one of the most consistent strike zones they've ever experienced. Umpiring is by and large a thankless job, so it does feel pretty good when coaches from both teams tell me they liked having me behind the plate and wished I'd work more of their team's games.

Pretty awesome. I talked a guy into quitting today so I didn't have to fire him. New guy starts on Monday, or maybe I can convince "The Man so Nice They Named Him Twice" to come work on my shift.
