Oh look a hipster-ish loser trying to talk crap on the Chiefs/Royals because he's on the super cool KC Wiz bandwagon.

Of course. Its the perfect representation of people who grew up in Leawood and live in midtown and act like they've always been city cool guys.

I think KC is relatively scenic, as Midwestern cities go

KC is the tits. People who hate the city are just a bunch of hayseeds or wannabe hipsters.

I wish I had grown up in a comparable Midwestern city and then moved here so I could be unbiased, but most people that I know who have done that really like KC compared to their Midwestern city of comparable size.

KC has the best downtown skyline from about 2 miles west of the Mississippi to about 20 miles east of the Pacific, excepting Vegas if you like the glitz. It's set on top of a freaking hill and you can see downtown from miles away in every directions. The approaches from the west, north, and south are awesome, and east isn't terrible.

You just described every major city in the United States, with the exception of Washington, DC.

This.  Mrs. WNK did TFA in KC and 80% of the other TFA members were from all around the U.S.  Most had a horrible perception about KC when they first landed (cause our airport is surrounded by cows and stuff).  Perception changed after the first month or so and many still live in the area 5 years later.  KC really does have a lot to offer and you are probably a lazy POS if you think this town is boring.

I would love to fly into the downtown airport sometime. Hearing old timers describe the approach from the south by the bluffs sounds pretty cool.

Also I'm really excited about the move to clean up/renovate West Bottoms.  Still wish Kauffman Stadium relocated there.   :frown:

Baseball should never be in the middle of nowheresville and always near downtown or a coast line.  Football needs its space though.

West Bottoms could be a really cool area. Did you know there was once a tunnel into the bluffs from the West Bottoms for the trolley to get to/from downtown?

You can see it about a third of the way from the left side of this photo:

Okay for the Chiefs, but so dumb that the Royals didn't move downtown.  :frown:

KC has it's ugly spots, but has some really great looking areas that edge it closer to beautiful than ugly. St. Louis, OKC, and Chicago are disgusting. Minneapolis, Dallas, and Indy are boring and plain jane. And let's just say Denver is lucky they have the mountains to save them.
