i should hope not! lol wtf are those windows?
Ironically that looks like a perfectly reasonable house to accommodate rolling bins. Just put them between the house and the fence!

City code doesn't allow for garbage bins to be seen from the street.

Lol what on earth

Same way in Overland Park. My parents and their neighbors split trash because they are old's, they would just keep the trash bins on the side of the garage between the 2 houses.

They got a letter from the city code department about it so my dad bought some cheap looking "privacy fence" type thing that is about 5ft high and 3ft long that protects the trash cans from view of the street

I get it in overland park, not in KC

They also don't allow you to use bins, only 2 bags laying on the ground where animals or weather rip them open. It's so bad. Doing recycling first is also lol.

this is why having trash bins is top 5 in the Pro column since moving to the suburbs. example yesterday had some people over, ordered 3 large pizzas from Minsky's. you're not supposed to recycle grease-stained pizza boxes so i like to split them in half and put the bottom half (greasy) in the trash, top half goes in recycling.

being able to to just throw what i need in the bin it needs to go into, rather than having to deal with everything going into trash bags, is very nice.

Probably belongs in the white people thread, but has anyone gotten their trash cans cleaned? I’m considering it. Ours smell terrible in the summer.

Would have to be considerably cheaper than just getting a replacement bin

Just hose out the inside when they are empty.   Clean the inside with a toilet brush or something if you are feeling extra ambitious.

whether you can and whether kcmo allows it and will take it appear to be two different things

How much do you get charged for a trash bin cleaning?

The company my neighbor uses is $150/yr for 12 cleans.

Have not looked into how much it costs to just get new bins.

wtf lol

when I had a rolling bin in California we could get a free one every year. The only one that ever smelled enough to notice was compost because the trash was in bags and the recycling was pretty clean.

Unless you are throwing away something ungodly on a regular basis the 12 cleans a year seems like massive overkill.  The cost is basically nothing though so I guess YOLO.

Yeah I think if I did it I’d just do a single clean for like $25. My bins are probably 10+ yrs old and we’re pretty rank when we inherited them from the previous owners.
