I lived downtown when it was being constructed and started running and later Waldo. It was a huge pain in the ass and seemed nonsensical. Cincinnati is gross overall, so I don’t really have any thoughts about it.

Construction downtown is currently worse than during train construction.

Can’t comment on Waldo as it’s 8 miles from nearest streetcar

The point was, I was a MO taxpayer at one time. I also lived on Delaware in the river market where they started to build it.

WC had a bad experience in Cincinnati or something. Very biased. It reminds me of the time he try to prop up Indianapolis cuisine right after bashing Cincinnati's by naming an Indianapolis "must" eat restaurant. A restaurant he had no idea originated in Cincinnati.

Honestly, I can't think of a city lamer than Indy.
Cincy? :dunno:

The Eagle on Mass Avenue is a must. Candy bacon and prime bloodys. It's a neat little street. We hit that place hard on Sunday's when I have to travel the day before.

You can hit it hard on Sunday's when you have to travel the day before in Columbus, Louisville, and even at the original location in Cincinnati as well.

Elmo's Steakhouse in Indy easily trumps anything Cinci has, but I also wasn't trying to prop up Indy like it was some amazing city. Just a place I had to go to a lot.

Man, roasted me, chum.

Did what happened in Cincinnati have something to do with your old company's new HR lady?

Maybe there were multiple boners in the same hotel room as her and WC. He's scarred.

Man Cincy chili is pure throw up. City itself felt a lot like KC but I haven't been there in like a decade.

I've never been to Cincinnati, probably never will be. I'm OK with that.

Speaking of boring cities, I have to go to Cleveland soon.  :frown:

Places i'm excited to be visiting for work soon are NYC, Boston, and Connecticut. I finally get to go to UCONN to see what it's all about.

I have this odd love of Cleveland. Not sure why.  Always have a good time there, I know it seems weird. I don't get it either.

Greenhouse Tavern has the best steak tartare I've ever had.

I'll check it out. I did go to a really good brewery there one time, but I can't recall the name of it.

West Side Market area is great... otherwise it's pretty rough, in my experience.

So it was just the construction on Main that you found annoying about the streetcar?  Not trying to be a dick, I just don't know why anyone would have any ill-will towards the thing unless it's just a general grievance against public spending.

I just thought it was careless spending and it was very annoying at the time when I lived down there. It was kind of one of those "get off my lawn" moments when I was down there as well.

Mainly the careless spending part, but I will admit those other things took effect too. It also effected rent downtown as well.

Agreed. It was pretty fun. I couldn't believe they put one of the Royals cat suit guys on the show, especially since it looked like he was doing just fine, but very entertaining.

Can you name some other KC metro projects you consider careless spending?

Not one of this stature. The Kaufman Center really grew on me and looks badass in our skyline.
