@pissclams is right here, Phil. KC mayor isn’t really that great of a job, nor is it prestigious.

A house seat is probably perceived as a step above mayor of KC.

With that said I’m sure the DNC want/need Kander to hold an elected position ASAP and this was probably the easiest road for that.

Just my uneducated and unwanted opinion on that matter.

So Kander moved back to KC in 2017 only weeks before the deadline to run for 2019 mayor....that doesn't seem like an accident.
