edgemoor was picked for recommendation to the full council. what their proposal looks like is anybody's guess b/c it's not publicly available anywhere
they're out of maryland
According to a news release from the City of Kansas City, selection committee members are recommending the proposer due to its experience with high-profile airport terminals nationwide (but the other developers have similar experience, so???)
edgemoor has experience in design, build and privately financed projects, and its owner Clark Construction Group, a $4 billion firm, has a long history with aviation projects, starting with Atlanta Hartsfield International Airport in 1975. The firm is currently doing work for airport projects at Dulles International Airport and Ronald Reagan National Airport, both in Washington D.C.
its collaborative approach to the design process (were other developers believed to be non-collaborative? seems counter intuitive as a developer ), and a plan that would deliver the terminal at the best price (even though they didn't share any financing information during their presentation last month).
let the fun begin
