This thread truly is the gift that keeps on giving.

What are everyone's thoughts on the new garage to be built in the RM?
I don't like it initially but I'm willing to listen

You know exactly who he is. He's the guy that has destroyed you in every thread.  I man you've got a lot of posts here and I obviously don't being new, but have you ever thought that maybe this wasn't for you?  Like if you're into computers and stuff, aren't there some hook up apps for losers who can't get laid on their own?  Also I know you pinterest like a boss.sooo there's that
Democrats suck because they don’t know history.
What Democrats know about history is that everyone born before them is a racist, and that’s that. We cannot learn from the past because everyone in the past was a racist. The Founding Fathers? Racists. And if you like them, you’re a racist

yeah, it's not an income tax.  and, since it's not paid for out of the city's general fund, the streetcar is not paid for by a re-allocation of taxpayer's $$$ that would have otherwise gone to fund KCMO schools, police, infrastructure, etc.  So, for KCMO residents like Clams that never come downtown, they never contribute a single penny directly or indirectly to pay for the streetcar.  Even if they spent $5K on meals/entertainment/goods/services from one of the countless new businesses and developments that have popped up within the TDD, their contribution would be a measly $50

Again, if you never step foot in the TDD - which you clearly do not - you'll never contribute a single penny directly or indirectly to pay for the streetcar.  pretty simple for most people to understand.

Quote
The council unanimously endorsed a plan Thursday in which QuikTrip’s pumps will be on the west side of Mercier Street and the store on the east side of the street, with the company having control and maintenance responsibility for the street, which it said it needed for its parking lot and to keep the street to its standards.

But the plan provides public right of way on Mercier, and it will continue to function as a city street, addressing the neighborhood’s concerns about losing public access.

how is that going to work?

Keeping that street open is so stupid though, close it and it's a 30 second detour for like 10 people.

giving away streets is the dumbest thing our city does.  The double down here by giving it away but forcing QT to keep it "open".  Dumb.

Hilarious part is the biggest eyesore on the corner still exists because QT got the Berbelgia land cheaper and knew they could force their will upon the city despite the city plan commission saying no, it being against the midtown development plan, and the surrounding neighborhood saying no.  Hail corporate!

anyone willing to spend non-TIF money developing that dilapidated block should be welcomed with open arms
years from now this will be looked upon as the keystone moment of the "new westport" and i'm glad that the NIMBYs were told to stfu
the current QT is an embarrassment to the city
