Before we throw this all out over the engineering firm not bidding out engineering services on their own engineering project financed by them the engineering firm alone....maybe let's hear the details on how the city will be assured they are getting what they need?

You the flying public will pay 2 more bucks on your ticket....50 cents more for satellite parking, 1 more on premium parking, and 50 cents more on your snacks....

shouldn't you have thought about that before putting out your press release, slying?
my quotes are your words.    backtracking already, so sad

I think I prefer the first funding method....but people like you and Dan Coffey who couldn't let it go have created his ....so you made the bed, lie in it.

ol' slyin "i like votes unless they don't benefit my position and then i hate votes" james...can't make this stuff up folks

Fun trivia question of the night.  Which is greater - the amount taxpayers will pay to finance our airport or the amount they paid to finance Gloria and Mark Funkhoser's hostile work environment settlement and attorney's fees. ???  Clams any guesses?

If this no-laptops-in-the-cabin spreads to domestic US flights, as some have speculated, KCI is going to get rebuilt a lot quicker....every flier in the region will lose their crap at our check in lines.  Sky Cap will make a rough ridin' fortune tho

A business owner died today after trying to stop a robbery.  Took emergency responders 17 minutes to get on scene, and only because some bystanders drove to a fire station and banged on the doors.  When they arrived 911 was still on hold.  eff KC.

For an extra 1% payroll tax I'd expect cops on every corner.  Why does KC manage to do so much less with so much more?  It's criminal.

That's too bad.  Agreed should expect and deserve better.  Forward details to KCFD if you really want improvements.

Is it the KCFD that administers the 911 line?

I'm sure whoever does measures their performance, and well aware that not answering an emergency call for 17 minutes is pretty rough ridin' poor performance.

KC has gotten too dangerous and no one is motivated to stop it or mitigate.  I'm not going up there anymore.

The call wasn't answered for 17 minutes or they didn't arrive in 17 minutes?

Where are the details of how long the call took to be responded to?

I just gave the details.  The call was never answered.  The callers were still on hold when firemen arrived.  Those firemen knew to respond because bystanders literally drove to the firehouse and banged on the doors.

Where did those details come from?  First hand account?  I'm going to share this with councilmembers so I was hoping for all the details.

Found the info...posted by blind tiger on their facebook page...and another post said the delays might be caused by a new dispatch system that was just installed...and still another comment says they've been rerouted 3 times while calling 911 in Merriam.  I've heard of some other people calling 911 and being rerouted as well...i assume this is due to cell phones going to the wrong switching but I thought they fixed all that?  Seems the metro agencies should get together and have one 911 center for the entire metro.

http://fox4kc.com/2017/05/11/while-dispatchers-get-familiar-with-new-system-kc-cops-told-to-abstain-from-some-regular-tasks/

Unfortunate event...hopefully this 911 delay thing is really temporary....I found some call data that KCMO 911 retains and that data shows a call typically holds for 15 seconds....
