itt:

phil:  i never go there, but still  :runaway:

clams:   live in a toilet, get treated like crap :no pity:

cfbandyman:  what if i told you that you could turn left on 39th st?

Abe: no no it's super easy you just turn right on 38th st, turn left on that little side street by missy B's, wait for the light to turn green, turn left on 39th in between the two stop lights, wait for 2nd light to turn green and your home free. simple  :jeffy:

mocat:

 yeah in hindsight last night's discussion was pretty dumb. Definitely on team "don't close the roads" now

hilaro too.  39th backs up too far to turn left to head east there unless it's off traffic time and if that's the case just turn left off of SW tfwy

When I used to drive from plaza to north everyday I loved sw tfwy being no turns but for the neighborhood sake and pedestrian accessibility....That road needs to slow down and turns being allowed would help accomplish that.

Yeah, if only there was a street 2 blocks over that accomplishes this. Sw tfwy has a purpose and it does it very well

It does a great job of disconnecting Westport from 39th Street neighborhoods.

I agree it is effective at moving traffic ....Guess it's all what your priority is...Id prefer the neighborhoods get first priority

none of that needs to happen.  it's a major artery and the flow should not be constricted.  you want to turn left on every block then move to leawood or something.

Nobody said that. Your post says turn left on 39th.

when i suggested turning left on 39th, it was in the context of it being 4 am on a tuesday morning.  yes it's illegal but who cares.

you typed "that road needs to slow down and turns being allowed would help accomplish that"

i typed "none of that needs to happen"  because none of that needs to happen, ever

Move to leawood if all you want is cars driving as fast as possible to their strip mall destinations.

This is the most KC of things in the KC things thread.

I enjoy it when driving...Hate it when I think of moving around those neighborhoods or walking across it. Woof.

CF3! The more I thought about "In on Roanoke," the more I wondered the singer and his gf/wife lived on Roanoke. Sadly, I didn't really put that together when I was walking down Roanoke and made reference to the song.

There is literally a crosswalk every 2 blocks from 29th to Westport Rd. You're being silly.

I think he was rehabbing a house down there at some point.

Baller! Thanks for the info. Found where I put two bumper stickers at mom's this week. Not sure if the band's ever made it to KC though.

I'm going to something called Char Bar this Saturday. We all got baby sitters and crap and gonna get turnt up.

I went a couple weeks ago, and this place is really good. Solid BBQ for the restaurant variety (by that I mean order at your table) and a cool atmosphere, especially if its nice and the bar is opened up. Also some nice weekday drink specials.
