That is kind of what a representative form of government is Emo....

Are we not allowed to disagree with someone for whom we have cast a vote?  Seems very all or nothing.

I'm literally befuddled by what the quarrel is here. We elect people to take care of this crap for us, if you are unhappy with what they do vote for someone else and hope they win  :dunno:

Or do you think just things you don't agree with your representative about should be put to public vote?

As far as I know this is the case

i want to try brewery emperial, but gd it, did they not consult anybody on how to spell their fing name? it looks so gross

Quote
brewery Emperial - We get asked about our name sometimes... There are several layers to what we decided to call ourselves.

In the history of Kansas City, there were several breweries of note. The shell of a former great one worth remembering still sits along I-35 about 3 miles from where our location is... The Imperial Brewery building stands as a reminder of the days when bigger meant better. From the late 19th century until prohibition, Imperial Brewery had a foothold in Kansas City: brewery Emperial is a nod to the noble Kansas City brewing tradition.

In addition to that homage, bE is named in the more European tradition of "brewery" first - this represents our intention to keep beers our main focus, we will serve Great bEer, that's what we want to do, first & foremost.

Emperial: A combination of two words-

Empirical: as in     -   that's a fact, Jack!
Imperial:   -    meaning majestic; of a demanding quality; worthy of royalty(Go Royals!); domineering soooooo......

Emperial  [em-peer-ee-uhl]  adj.     it's a fact, our food and beer is high quality, worthy of royalty and a domineering way of making you want more.

I agree it has gotten bad, so will be nice when they redo it AND save some of the buildings on that block...a close second is the Grand to McGee block south of 19th that's all parking lot really pisses me off now a lot as I take that route from streetcar to your place and the sidewalks are SOOO BAD.

That block is really bad too. I'm hoping with the new hotel going in at 20th and grand, that block gets rebuilt over the next few years. I do hate the parking lot that takes up an entire city block. That crap should be illegal

75% of KCMO submitted $1B general fund budget going to law enforcement and fire. Increased 4.6% over last year. Fighting crime in KC isn't a funding problem....

sucks that sly is too busy lobbying for his very own emmanuel clever boulevard instead of paying attention to what's happening on the streets of his city.  but i get it, the grunt work isn't as fun.

West "Sly James" Plaza has a nice ring to it.  (BTW every mayor gets something named after them, so he shouldn't try so hard)
