MCI is a rough ridin' joke and any of you that think it is fine as is should kill yourself.  I'm in a line right now that is going to take at least 45+ minutes in TSA precheck

I got through the A list line earlier in about 10 minutes, after parking about 75 yards away in the garage. So.....

Plus, I also make sure to get to security 1 hour before boarding.  I have never had a security line over an hour, anywhere.

If you do this, you will not have stress.

You young bucks, smh.

7:15... One of the gates is closed, I'll rebook for the noon one most likely... Didn't want to work today anyway

Ya, 32/33 being closed is a pain.  They held my flight for 15 minutes waiting for stragglers from security lines.  So, you might get lucky.

They are de-icing too, so they will hold a bit longer as they wait for trucks.

When MCI is running smoothly, it's great, but no airport has this big a problem when it isn't

Boarded! 80 minutes from being dropped at the door to on the plane! 77 of those in line for something that takes 6 minutes in major cities and small towns

the only reason you're bitching is because you're used to mci being the most capable airport in the entire country.  when there's a hiccup like today the delicious tears begin to flow.

newsflash:  all airports experience congestion at times.  i've been in airport lines so long they extended to the airport parking lot.  deal with it.

Kci is the only airport that can't handle demand fluxulations at checkpoints. Not sure why this is such a foreign concept for kci lovers to zunderstand.

That tequila place on your right should've been handing off shots like spectators give water to marathon runners.

had the same experience a week ago, though not as drastic. hurt my heart a little to see the delta tsa pre check security struggling so much, the line was significantly longer than the "normal" security line.

once i did get through, had to lol at how cramped everyone was in the gate area. whatever, i can just stand there, but it really is bad. it's a shitty little airport with a weird layout but it's OUR shitty little airport with a weird layout.

sounds like the company we outsource our security to is very poorly managed by the city, not surprised.  we should expect more from our vendors but we let them walk over us like a wet blanket.

Except the city doesn't manage the contract/selection/relationship/performance: https://www.tsa.gov/for-industry/screening-partnerships
Quote
Can the airport authority advise the screening contract company on security screening service operations at their airport?
The contract screening company is contracted by TSA to provide the security screening services. TSA monitors vendor performance according to their contract. The vendor must comply with all TSA standard operating procedures and operational directives. The airport authority has no new role or impact on the screening operations as a result of the program.

Can the airport authority be part of the formal source selection process for the program?
The Office of Management and Budget has provided federal agencies specific guidance on the issue of what is considered “inherently governmental” work when it comes to the government procurement process. They cannot participate as a voting member in the source selection process.

Basically it sounds like typical shitty TSA service but just not "government employees"
