that's a pretty good argument for a new termy in itself... at KCI apologists, I haven't heard an argument about saving current KCI that makes any sense.

i mean, it's obvious that the management in charge of mci is woefully incompetent,  although not surprising since this same level of incompetence is found in every corner of KCMO's government.  who in their right mind would hand these irresponsible clowns a check for a billion bones?  no one that i know of, that's for sure.

you were just singing KCI's praises but the mgmt is incompetent? Seems to me their are polishing the turd as much as possible based on the townies love of the current setup despite it being a 30 year old building with a design that doesn't fit modern air travel....

Anyone who thinks MCI is a 'good experience' has zero perspective.

You can add it to the KSTATE-O thread.

make no mistake, the airport itself does do exceptionally well despite management's efforts to hijack it at their every opportunity

agreed.  it's much more of a 'great experience' but some folks will never be happy and relegate a 'great' thing to just 'good'.  sad.

I just want to add to mocat's best thing about mci being when they have to tow your plane from another terminal to when they tow your plane from another terminal and then change your gate so you have to leave security and go through security again to get to the other gate

The only problem with MCI is it looks like crap.  Like it looks like one of those fortified hangars you park warplanes in to protect them from bombs.

it's not located in iowa, it's 15 minutes from downtown just like most airports in most cities

of course the site was selected in true KC style, thanks to backroom politics

would a new terminal not use a jetway?  I think House Clams is +1 on the day now

hmm, I think they are more like the tugs and baggage trucks than part of the building, I mean they are moveable?

as fliers at mci we can expect that our jetways should be fully operational.  they also should be covered under maintenance contracts managed by the pack of einsteins who also manage the airport which is paid for out of the airport's current operating budget.

if the contracts lapsed or are not being enforced, blame the folks tasked with keeping them current and enforcing their clauses

it's obvious these folks are literally and figuratively flying blind

I wish we could ban airport talk and streetcar talk in this thread. People in Waldo are getting their yeezys stolen and getting shot in the face during the process. :shakesfist:

i have no problem with the location of the airport FYI...although it would be super cool if one airline would fly out of MKC, Love Field style.

'clam, old people get precheck like automatically, it's one of the things paying precheck people get all  :curse: about.

outrageous maintenance costs for the current setup is one of the best arguments for a new terminal, i like the way you think 'clams
