<--- grew up in the '114 so i am street tough AF. for example, one time in the late 90's our neighbor's car was stolen. that's a true story.

the planning commission did not support the westport quicktrip expansion, still going to the council but this isn't a good sign

rough ridin' idiot west plaza association bastards

This doesn't surprise me. Very horrible plan for the neighorhood. Why do you like the plan clams?

it's as much a business district as it is a neighborhood/shitty apartment slum
that top of the line quicktrip will be the nicest thing in that whole area

shuttered liquor store?  check
shuttered gas station?  check
jimmy johns? check
some guy who sells high mileage imports? check
shuttered vape shop?  check
a couple of head shops?  check
shitty BP that hasn't done any improvements since the 70's? check
another shitty liquor store?  check
i almost forgot the chicken nuggets stand

it's not like they're popping it down in the middle of the west plaza.  that quicktrip is packed 24/7, i avoid it at all costs.  the development would most definitely improve the value of the area and it's not going to make westport road incrementally busier than it already is. they did a great job on their 80th and state line location, no reason to think this would be any different.

Closing streets for a gas station is a non starter for me.... It looks like a truck stop. Needs to be a better scale. Doesn't fit the midtown plan.

Gotta demand better clams.... Don't accept every hussie.   The midtown plan was approved by your hood...so if you don't agree go knock on your neighbors door... I'm just trying to support what you guys wanted.

nothing, my point is that it is just fine and the neighborhood is just fine too
somehow though, the busiest qt in town can't expand because it's too truckstopy

Here is how they expand it and make it fit the neighborhood.... Take the corner property that is a bombed out gas station... Move the QT building to the front of the street. Move the pumps where the store is now. Makes the QT more accessible to pedestrians, doesn't interrupt the street grid, fits the midtown neighborhood plan,  doesn't tear down residential, more room for me to buy my ice tea.
