It takes me close two 2 hours to get eight miles from LaGuardia into midtown Manhattan at 4 o'clock in the afternoon.  KC doesn't have bad traffic for a major city, but it also needs light rail.

this.  a lot of major cities with successful and effective mass transit don't have terrible traffic.

I'm just saying that federal funding should go elsewhere before it goes to needless public transit.  LA and Socal in general literally need to double the size of their interstates, I5 in particular.

Pretty crazy night last night. Ms. Wacky and I were sound asleep at 3:40 before We heard this crazy bitch knocking on the door. I look through the peep hole and it was a short Hispanic chick going nuts on our door. I finally opened the door to see if she needed help or something and she screamed at us that we were in her apartment. Somehow this bitch still had keys to get into the building and then mumped up our lock with a different key. She apparently lived here 5 years ago. She actually put some bruises on Ms. Wacky too, before I had to push the dumb bitch off of her. Have already had our locks changed this morning. #downtown

Why did you open the door?

Honestly, I knew this question was coming and she was so crazy, I didn't know if she was running from something and needed help. :dunno:

Had the same thing happen a few years ago but it was a guy so drunk he couldn't hardly stand.  He kept kicking our glass door and I thought he was going to break it.  Ended up calling the cops but walked him down towards Quaff and was going to throw him in a cab....his friend was walking down the street looking for him so I told him to get his buddy our of here as "someone has called the cops on him".

Type of stuff happens when you are close to a bar and I consider it a small price to pay.

I pushed her so hard when she tried to bite Ms. Wacky that her head hit the neighbors door. :frown: That's when she finally left. What was I supposed to do. Cops agreed it was the right move tho. I reported myself for self defense of the situation.

Maybe a chain for the door so you can check next time without opening yourself fully up to crazy

I'll say it.... I don't get boulevardia

Avoided it the first two years but had free tickets so thought I'd check it out this year.  Basically...

-Get yourself to the west bottoms (I walked, most seem to drive)
-Pay fifteen bucks
-Walk around West bottoms (could do for free any night and go to the ship)
-for that entrance fee you get to drink a limited selection of Blvd beers... If you search you can find one stand with duvel products.
-beers are six bucks (beer cocktails were 8 which were pretty good actually)
-there are bands to entertain you....three stages...all meh
-food trucks (plantain district was there so happy)

Don't get it.

The lineup this year is bizarre.  Gin Blossoms, Soul Asylum?

That one sounds lame. Although, sometimes festivals designed to sell beer and junk food are a good excuse to consume beer and junk food. You don't need an excuse, of course, but having one damn sure doesn't hurt anything.

I didn't even look at the sunday lineup...the lineup last night I hadn't heard of any of them (granted I'm not a live music groupie) except for the Phantastics and the only reason I'd heard of them is because they did a video on the streetcar.

If you are roped into going, go to the beer cocktail stand....those were pretty good.

really don't get the whole thing....

With the American Royal abandoning the west bottoms I do think it's cool to have an annual festival down there.  Also, the Ship is amazing on an unrelated note.
