I feel bad because I'm assuming the driver is losing money on the trip. I'm not sure if that's true, but I know Uber is kind of shitty to its drivers.
They really are. I'd say 4/5 drivers usually bitch to me about it.

The only reason I uber is because it's cheaper than a cab.  The only reason I uberpool is because it's cheaper than uberx.

Why should I feel guilty if I luck out and get a relatively quick ride to boot?

Full disclosure, I've sat through some ungodly long uberpool trips before.

They are voluntarily working for Uber. If they don't like it, they can quit, but I won't feel bad for using the service.
