Keep in mind this information came from someone who thinks mkc is sufficient for kc (I don't think a 737 can even take off from mkc)

The solution, to some at least, is a revamp or perhaps a slice-and-dice of United's sprawling U.S. network. United takes great pride in its expansive route map, but if the company is unable to generate returns that match those of rivals, what's the point?

MKC has 6800' of runway. Midway is one of the busiest in the nation by movements with 6500'.

I understand that MKC has some reputation amongst the flatland sheeple that populate the surrounding metro, but it's really not difficult or special. Commercial ops were moved due to a failed bid to become a TWA super hub, which didn't pan out. It has precision approaches now and is 'safer' than ever.

Oh crap, I planned a great weekend to come to KC. I'm going to drive 5 or 6 miles, park my car at Union Station and then ride the streetcar up to P&L. I'll pak my face off at PBR until 1am, then catch the streetcar to Union Station, and KSUBrian my way back home!
