love all the johnson county hate in here as if KC would even exist without JoCo

Where was the JoCo hate until after this post?  I didn't see any.

Yes you are right....the metro traces it roots back to 95th & Metcalf I remember reading.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Well that settles it... Gizmodo has spoken out against about a 2.5B NYC line so all streetcars are bad. The NYC line does seem dumb.

Streetcars were removed when people fled for the burbs, now that people are back, so are the streetcars.

I took it was from Gizmodo... Far from an authority on urban planning. Every point they made they related to the NYC project.... Not smaller systems that are successful.

Didn't the original streetcars actually take riders to the suburbs?

I don't think they ever left the city limits of KCMO but were a way to get to/from downtown from the "suburban" neighborhoods that were to the South and East.

This streetcar sounds like a giant, free bus.

I will never ride the bus. I will, in fact, ride the streetcar... Likely go to Up/Down to start my night... walk to Rieger for a little primer, jump the car and creep around Rivermarket/downtown before Uber'ing to Plaza. Can't wait for it to extend to Plaza. I wish it would sooner.

8MP, you blow goats and don't know a thing.
