FYI for those in midtown, a streetcar extension vote is being organized.  Get your neighbors together and spread the good word.  The vote will (most likely) be for a TDD along each side of Main Street up to 1/2 mile on either side of Main ending at UMKC.  For comparison, the TDD for the downtown line added around $250 to my property tax bill per year....I'd think they are aiming for a similar cost for residential homeowners in midtown.

Good information here:
http://nextrailkc.com/main-street/

while they were testing it yesterday, a lady in the streetcar waved at me and ms. blast. it made me smile.

Question for future streetcar riders

Would you expect it to stop at every stop or that you would have to request a stop when riding? (obv would stop for you if you were waiting on the platform.)

It should swing out to Overland Park and the The K.

i don't really have a stake, but requesting a stop seems like the smart way to operate it.

phil, are you still going to feel interested when your extra $250 is really just a moving jerkoff station?

it will most likely work just like the MAX or any other bus. stop if someone requests a stop or if someone is waiting would be my guess

Streetcar authority is trying to decide which way to go right now... So thought I'd ask Joe q.  Public their expectations. Most streetcar lines are request stop only.

another option would be to plow through all the stops at full speed and see how far south they could get
