i think i will do more exploring of river market establishments once this thing gets going. maybe i'll see if cellar & loft is as shitty as its name suggests

Yeah I've considered condos in river market now because of this sexy sreetcar.
That's probably where Ms. Wacky and I are going next. Just sucks tho, because a lot of places down there aren't pet friendly, unless it's a cat. I mean, lol at having a cat as a pet.

prediction: very few people will use the streetcar once the shiny new feeling wears off.

Yeah what's up with that? Why does River Market hate dogs? Almost makes me hate the River Market. But that combo plate at Habashi House keeps drawing me back.

Not sure, I swear 2/3 of the places down there are rent controlled tho, so they have unique rules. We've already started looking for dog friendly places down there, because when her dog goes, i'm going to get us a bigger, cooler, dog.

well i think you're wrong. the downtown population is going up, and also people from out of town that stay downtown will use it, and i don't think there will be fewer people doing that. especially if my giant throbbing erect hyattscraper gets built

if they knocked the stupid brookside people off the vote next time, we can get it extended to westport/plaza, in which case people will use it all the effing time

i love the IDEA of a street car but this thing was built too late after the area developed and just doesnt go to where people actually live. it just gets people from one side of downtown to the other. itll be convenient for some people, but likely not enough.

if it went to brookside/waldo id use it all the time. happy for kc. hopefully they extend it in future years.

thats just my personal use. if i lived downtown id probably use it more, but id still have a car. and id likely still drive that car most of the time.

also, im worried with it being free that its going to get gross and people will stop using it. tax payers cannot be counted on to keep it afloat forever.

this streetcar is basically just a fitbit.

your work pays for it and you think its super cool. you use it for a month or so while its new and shiny and cool. then you forget about it because it doesnt really do much to change your every day life and its just kind of in the way.

you guys are so small timey. kc did not invent the streetcar. it's going through the most dense part of town (which will never not be the most dense part of town), and we can already see the businesses and hotels that have opened along the route only because it now exists.

how do you know anyone uses them? tons of variables here. do they go from actual real neighborhoods that people live in or just a place kids go on field trips to? do they go by actual real grocery stores? to sports stadiums that have teams that play 40+ games in a year?

idk. im not an expert on charlotte's street car system.
