You said," none of that stuff is taxed.". Were you arguing that sales tax from conferences and conventions would benefit the city, or were you counting tourism fees from car rentals and downtown hotel rooms?  Also, what do you expect the increased convention room, car rental and other discretionary fees to be after this albatross is approved?
I'll listen off air.

You listed 4 things convention goers would spend money on and then tried to play it off like the city wouldn't get anything from it. You are a moron

The point I made is that those businesses most benefitting from conventions aren't local. If anything, they're employing minimum wage ton $9 an hour employees, largely, and sending most profits out of town. I'll draw a picture for you next time to make it simpler.

So here's lb 7's game plan:
1. hand over $50 million in cash to developer/out of town chain.
2. Wait for ffa, la raza, Christian rock convention bonanzas for 25-30 years.j\
3. Applaud national chains McDonald's, hertz, and caterers for employing high school dropouts.

Instant profit

KC star headline:

SLY: Low wage earners fly

Mayor credits downtown revitalization to millennials, starving artists who work part time at hotel/caterer and plunge millions into economy

I don't care what happens, I'm just pointing out that you're a moron, but you've done a better job than I have at making you look like a moron, so at least you can feel good about that

I'm sure the FFA, La Rasa and insurance commissioner conventions will pay that $50 million, 3 cents at a time.

I should have said "convention goers,". Thanks for setting me straight. Lib 7 is fortunate to have a friend who can formulate sentences.

Is this a Tax increment financing deal that relies on sales tax increases to fund the project?

i guess the main thing is, it is completely standard practice for tax abatements and such, and the $50 mil over 25 years would be more than made up for iyam. the project cost is $300m.

i mean ffs, olathe is giving $19.6m for an embassy suites (total cost = $51m)

That Olathe deal is insane.
