I thought the midwest thing is people are just being passive aggressively nice, but actually a-holes??
Sometimes I think of the Book of Job and how God likes to really eff with people.

If you think about it too much, the idea breaks down. On the surface, though, pretty amazing.

Reminds me of "people on the East Coast are not nice, but are kind. People on the West Coast are nice, but are not kind."

Yeah, if you want to be technical, that purple would extend up to the Indiana/Ohio border and everything west of Ohio and Michigan would fit in that purple, but this is cleaner and gets the point across

in my experience, people in northern indiana/michigan (greater chicago area) fit far better in the northeastern cultural milieu than midwestern (or southern).

I've spent a lot of time in both Wisconsin and Minnesota, but never in Michigan.  I found the Wisconsin and Minnesota folks to mostly be the yellow category, and if not yellow then purple.  I just assumed Michigan was the same.

Minnesotans are definitely nice. Wisconsinites and Michiganders are pretty nasty. I have a much worse impression of people from Wisconsin, they don't see many black people. Michiganders, Ohioans, and Pennsylvanians are pretty much the same.

Indiana is basically Kansas except for the far northwest which is poor Chicago and the far south which is culturally Kentucky (but so is SEK, kinda?)

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

I've been playing this a bit:
https://oec.world/en/tradle/

I'll add this to my ...dle game tab, mostly geographic I currently play
https://worldle.teuteuf.fr/ guess the country
https://wheretaken.teuteuf.fr/city another guess the country game, this time by photos
https://statele.teuteuf.fr/ guess the state, this one is easy, you have to turn the state shape off to make it somewhat harder
https://wheretakenusa.teuteuf.fr/ guess the state by photos

Non geographic ...dles I play are
https://emovi.teuteuf.fr/ guess the movie by emoji
https://www.spotify.com/heardle/? music

I've given up on wordle and all the other assorted word related dles.

you'll have to take that up with whoever is in charge of deciding where the equator and prime meridian are
