Anyway, get a dog from a shelter.

My family has had our beagle for ~12 years now. He is great. We spent a bit of time training him, but once he was through his puppy years it has been a cake walk. Doesn't bark, very well house-trained (only accidents are when he gets sick), and he loves everyone.

Strongly considering trying to adopt a beagle or beagle mix.

It looks cute, but I'm not so sure that it isn't thinking about eating your baby right there.  It has a very "Who the eff does this guy think he is?" feel to it.

The baby bosses him so hard now.  Just goes up and slaps him around, hugs him and then pushes him away.  Makes mocking growling noises at him.  Poor dog.

I have a 12 lb pocket beagle.

I don't recommend beagles.  It's common for beagles to have horrible teeth (causes the worst breath you can imagine) and seizures.  Plus beagles can be very loud.

We adopted our now 6 yr old beagle when he was 7 months old.  He marks everywhere (even though he is potty trained, he has rotten teeth (have had 6 pulled and thinking about pulling them all), and he has seizures every once in awhile.

Other beagle and pocket beagle owners I have had conversations with have agreed that they will never own another beagle.

My yellow lab is a badass though.  STUD

I wouldn't say that is the case. They may be more difficult than other breeds, but most people don't have the experience/ don't put in the effort to train them properly.

Beagles are very food oriented. It's pretty easy to train them using treats as a reward for proper behavior. The biggest issue is the shedding. Tri-colored hairs are a bitch.

Per your specifications:
1. Standard schnauzer
2. Cocker spaniel
3. Novia Scotia Duck Tolling Retreiver
4. Daschund

This site, http://dogtime.com/matchup, has a quiz that "tells" you your perfect match.

I judge people who buy dogs from breeders when there are hundreds at the pound.

When I choose a pooch, I usually pick the dog sitting quietly in the back watching the other barking dogs crowd around the front of the cage.

I judge you for so consistently being a dumbass when you post here.

The dog below is available at Wayside Waifs right now.

Forward to Advice thread and someone comment about how you shouldn't let your roommates do crap that will directly effect you and your place without discussing it with you.

People in college should not own a dog, 1 of 2 things will happend.

1. The dog will spend all day in its crate and crap all over it and be full of energy when it is finally let out.

2. The dog will spend all day in the house and tear everything up because you and all your roomates spend all day in class and all night at the bars.

Roomate got a puppy in college and it lasted about 2 years before it was so screwed in the head from never getting enough attention that it was sent to his uncles farm.

In 7 years I've traveled with and hunted my dogs in 9 states.  I have 190k miles on a '06 pickup and I only really drive a third of the time.  Dogs are great fun.  One of the most rewarding things you can ever do is to own and give a good life to a dog.

As puppies, very cute.  But, I find their disproportional legs to be off-putting.  However, I do like ugly dogs like Pugs, so I guess I can't talk.
