I was referring to potentially electing the first "Dem" senator in 88 years.

This is a major flaw with elections.  Most of the voting public don't know and don't investigate candidates.  This is why we got a bunch of stupid, corrupt thieves and idiots running this government.   The worst part is this crap has been getting steadily more stupid, corrupt, crookeder, and downright shittier for the general public.  I don't see it getting any better in my lifetime.

Enough said.
Hot time in Kat town tonight.

I'll be honest, the only reason I think that this kid being a sociopath/bad person/criminal matters is that it makes him much less effective at his job which is advocating for and passing good legislation.

I think a lot of people genuinely think that the "character" of the person they are voting for is more important than what policies they will vote for and I find that completely insane.

The lack of trust and personal accountability is a big deal, especially given who our president is.

I do in general agree with you regarding past transgressions. However, specifically regarding this candidate, his age is important to consider. He clearly has an impulse problem which leads him to making poor decisions, at 20 years old, brain science tells us he's far from being done doing really stupid crap. The fact that he isn't ready to own it yet should tell us all that he is still prone to making similar mistakes.

I mean only to the extent that it compromises the person's ability to get elected and/or their ability to do what I want them to.

Like if the worst Clinton crime family Q stuff was true about Hillary and she had a whole epstein island full of skeletons in her closet but she was passing medicare for all and such, then I don't understand preferring John McCain leading with dignity and honor and crushing poor people.

I get that there are shades here and the more compromised a person is, the more likely the house of cards is to come down, but to me that is the only consideration.

Yes, to the extent that this makes him an unreliable vessel through which to implement my favored policies this is a big liability.

Kat Kid is doing a really good job of making the reasonable conservative argument for voting for Trump, just in reverse.

It's a tricky exercise when the policy choices also reflect poor "character".

They already all vote for him.  It is very logical.  The only absolute never Trumper types are

1) neo-con war crazy types like Jennifer Rubin or Bill Kristol
2) intelligence community types like Michael Hayden
3) bourgeoisie striver types that are offended by his bad manners (lots of pundits fall in this category) but these are also all over twitter as suburban wine mom/girl boss types and guys that work for McKinsey or Deloitte---- steve dave basically
4) a small number of Mormons or religious conservatives that are offended by his personal conduct

I'm obsessed with the Aaron Coleman saga.  What will happen next!

Really, if he gets elected it won't matter much regardless.  Nobody will work with him.  He'll be on no important committees. And there's only so much (i.e. "nothing") a democrat from wyco with no friends can accomplish in the Kansas legislature.

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.
