oscar's agent laid it on the line and now king oscar gets to enjoy the good life.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Part of his previous contract was a guaranteed extension to be negotiated by May 2014 if he won Big 12 Coach of the Year.

So oscar has a good agent.

Yeah never mind nothing to see here

meh, we can still hate currie for agreeing to the contract.  i could probably have been coach of the year with the returning players and weak league.

i want to say this doesn't mean anything but i can't. we are guaranteed oscar through AT LEAST 2016. it's going to suck for all the dudes who act miserable about him all the time.

this seems pretty reasonable. the new salary definitely isn't outlandish, but talk about falling upward. My goodness.

meh, the only way oscar is out of here sooner rather than later is if we get a new AD that wants his own guy.  I don't recall what the buyout terms of BW's contract are but I would hope all the new tv money should make that a non factor.

If Currie is smart (which he isn't) he'd make the buyout of oscar's contract about five dollars.

El Oh El.

This contract extension is dumb. Granted, Weber did win a share of the Big 12 title, but he also got swept by KU and we lost in the first round. Are other schools really clawing to get Weber right now? I mean that's why you give contract extensions right? I would think his salary incentive of winning the Big 12 conference would suffice.

If this were any other coach I'd be jazzed. But this is oscar Weber. Illinois gave him a fat raise/extension after being NCAA Title Runner-up, and that buyout was ridiculous.

I just don't see the reason to give the guy an extension. I'd like to meet oscar's agent, he is amazing.
oscar Weber has the personality of a dead moth.

Will Spradling is an awful human being.

If you've ever met oscar Weber then you've met his agent.
My prescience is fully engorged.  It throbs with righteous accuracy.  I am sated.

Quote
“Our men’s basketball program, from top to bottom, has made continued improvement under Coach Weber and his staff since their arrival last April,” said Currie.

Glad that rough ridin' jackass Currie said this now, because he won't be able to say it again.

When I saw the release I knew when I came here I would once again see that some on goEMAW don't get, have never gotten and will likely never get how this thing works.

Sad

It's too early to judge, but this meltdown isn't as hilarious as I'd hoped.

I think it is because this was built into his contract.

If ole JC came out and gave him a two year extension just because, then the meltdown would be crazy.

What automatically and contractually kicks in if that happens?

Contracts with automatic extensions should be balanced with automatic penalties too when coaches are hired after doing shitty elsewhere.
