If K-State ever joins the BCS Bowl/national championship combo club I will offer a hearty congratulations and tip of the cap to lil bro.  I know it will never happen though since K-State doesn't compete at the national level.

Guys, if Beems gets his wish and the Lady Hawks win the Natty in track and field, I personally can deliver a congratulations from goEMAW.com.  If anyone is interested, we could get them some wine, or perhaps a gift basket? Or maybe gift baskets with wine.

It sounds like they would need to borrow a troph case.  Anyone have an extra?  We could give it to them as a present.

I am pretty sure we have most of the cabinet makers on back order making the KSU ones.  Maybe we can get together and preassemble one of those wire shelf things for them.  You know, pound some beer while doing it.  Maybe BBQ.  Make an afternoon of it.   :dunno:

The BSC trash talk is the best thing ever. In a year when there is no longer a BSC it will be meaningless and their Orange Bowl victory will be for naught, much like our Fiesta bowl victory that is always forgotten in these discussions.

Does the indoor track operation have a codename?

I always thought track and field was an individual sport. They actually name a national championship team for track and field? Like, does the whole team get invited to nationals, including the shitty athletes in events that the school isn't very good at?  And they do this for both indoors and outdoors? Seems weird.

I mean, yeah, I can see naming a conference champ because every school is represented in every event. Do they just rank teams and invite shitty athletes from some schools to the nationals so that the school can compete for a national championship? If not, how do they determine the winner? It seems like a load of garbage, either way.

It's track.  Basically, if you aren't in for an Olympic spot, everyone should just get participation ribbons or something. Like at big pizza party at the end of May.

The official score?  Fun - Fun.

KU had a girl who went to the olympics then they made her sit on the bench while the real runners went and won a gold.

KU is basically good at the sports that the elementary kids play on the last day of school before summer vacation.

Not anything against it, Field Day was pretty rough ridin' amazing and I have the ribbons to prove it.

Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

That's a good point. One year, my elemetary school scheduled a Super Kids Day and it was raining, so they moved all of the events into the gym. Let me tell you, it was a whole different ballgame when they took the elements out of the equation.

Yes, Field Day included the inside things like how high can you climb the rope as well as playing underneath a giant parachute, both of which I'm assuming KU is probably very good at as well.

One of our events was who could blow a bubble the fastest. God, I was horrible at that event. :frown: The KU team would kick my ass at that one.

When your school has zero national titles in its history, you've gotta find success in even the smallest accomplishments.  Hence parades and farm humps in celebration of a Big 12 title in baseball.

Are you a girl?  Because from what I see their men's inside and outside track teams suck like their football and baseball teams suck.

Maybe if KU had ever won a regular season Big 12 baseball championship, you would have some sort of "no fun allowed" standard to compare us to. But alas, that hasn't happened yet.

crap, that's a good point. I wouldn't have to face the good female athletes. I could probably give the losery men a run for their money.

Well that was back in 2006, iirc, and no one really cared that much because we're KU, and we're used to winning the Big 12.
